JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Marketing & Communications Manager, and in close collaboration with the
Corporate Giving Manager, the Marketing & Corporate Partnerships Coordinator is a key part of the
development and marketing team at Feeding America San Diego (FASD). This position will provide
support for the development and marketing team in its overarching goal of inspiring, connecting and
mobilizing the public in the fight against hunger. The Marketing & Corporate Partnerships Coordinator will
be responsible for creating flyers, brochures, signage, digital assets and other collateral in support of
marketing campaigns, client programs and stakeholder communications, upholding the overall marketing
strategy and enhancing the FASD brand. In addition, this position will research, solicit and cultivate new
and existing cause marketing opportunities, third party events, food and fund drives and other corporate
partnerships within the framework of a well-designed corporate giving program and FASD’s five-year
plan. Other duties will include support for events, as well as cultivating current and prospective donors.

Build cohesive digital and print campaigns that support marketing and fundraising strategy, utilize
key messages and enhance the FASD brand.
Develop collateral and regular publications for client programs and public education; coordinate
internal feedback and approvals.
Utilize key messages and FASD brand effectively and consistently across all communications,
and serve as an internal brand ambassador to FASD staff and cross-functional teams; advise on
best practices, proper logo usage, adherence to style guide and messaging integration for
general FASD materials as well as specific campaigns.
Work closely with Marketing & Communications Manager and Corporate Giving Manager to
develop cause marketing campaign strategies, recruit new partners and create collateral material
in addition to managing relationships and retaining partners.
Collaborate with development and marketing team to rapidly expand third party event prospects,
donations and relationships. This includes providing marketing materials for and attending these
events.
Oversee all food and fund drive coordination – this includes taking requests, creating marketing
and collateral materials, tracking food received and communicating with FASD inventory team, as
well as managing relationships, recruiting new food and fund drive participants and rapidly
expanding FASD’s food and fund drive program.
Collaborate with Corporate Giving Manager to support fundraising campaigns. This includes
donor prospecting, recruitment, training and performing against revenue goals.
Collaborate with development and marketing team to support sponsorship, promotion, and
attendance at fall and spring fundraising events, as well as other organization events. This
includes ticket and sponsorship sales support, logistical and production support, solicitation of live
and silent auction donations and creativity in planning.
Collaborate with development and marketing team to create collateral materials for the corporate
giving program and support relationship management system communication plan execution.
Provide support in the form of presentations to corporate and community groups, coordinating
various corporate volunteer activities, leading tours and attending regular networking events.


Track all correspondence with donors and prospects in CRM system
Work with volunteers to conduct research and generate background profiles on corporate donors
and prospects
Other duties as assigned by the Marketing & Communications Manager and the Corporate Giving
Manager

INTERACTION
The Marketing & Corporate Partnerships Coordinator will interact closely with Development, Marketing
and Volunteer Programs staff, and will provide information to staff, donors, prospects, individuals in need,
volunteers, FASD Board and staff and others from the community.
EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE
 A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business
administration, public administration, communications or a closely related field, and at least two
years of professional experience in a non-profit, project management, marketing, graphic design,
or fundraising role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
 Commitment to hunger-relief and FASD’s mission; compassion and appreciation for other hunger
related issues.
 Strong networker with excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
 Proficiency in design and layout software (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat)
 Superior writing and oral communication skills; strong editing skills.
 Familiarity with social media platforms, CMS platforms, email marketing platforms and other webbased technologies
 Strong attention to detail and superior project management skills
 Collaborative approach to working as part of a team
 Familiarity with AP style
 Must have excellent customer service skills
 Comfort and experience with cold calling
 Ability to multi-task with a high level of personal initiative and self-drive
 Proven ability to develop a compelling case for support
 Ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with donors
 Experience planning and executing large scale fundraising events
 Strong research skills and an ability to synthesize information
 Ability to work with Salesforce CRM system
 Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Publisher, Power Point, Outlook and Excel
 A professional demeanor with an aptitude for analytical thinking and problem solving
 General knowledge of nonprofit organizational practices.
 Knowledge of development principles, fundraising techniques and ethics
 Excellent organizational skills and an ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
 Experience working with volunteers

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid state driver license, a satisfactory
driving record, including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under the Agency’s
insurance carrier standards.

Work in an office adjacent to a warehouse setting with occasional travel to other locations in
San Diego County.






Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel and uses hands, arms and legs for dexterity, balance and climbing
stairs frequently. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Occasionally lifts, carries and balances objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
Pulls and pushes such objects as file drawers and supplies.

Occasionally is required to perform the safe operation of office equipment and machines, and
recognize and abate safety hazards within the workplace.
Must be able to hear, see including peripheral vision and distinction of colors, read and
communicate verbally and in writing frequently with a wide range of people from divergent
socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and origins.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but this office is maintained in distribution center
with machinery and large trucks.
