Hand-painted Fontanini manger scenes and figures have been a Little Traveler tradition since the
late 1920s when the store’s founder, Kate Raftery, purchased a
Neapolitan crèche as a showpiece for the store’s holiday decór.
The House of Fontanini was founded in 1908 by Emanuele
Fontanini in a small Italian village called Bagni di Lucca located
in Tuscany. Today, the House of Fontanini is run by the fourth
generation of the Fontanini family and remains famous for its
nativity figurines and angels.

start with continental breakfast in our Atrium Café for

flicker just like a real flame. The only way your family and
guests will realize that these pillars, votives and everthing in
between aren’t actually burning is if you tell them. Of
course, we also have a fantastic selection of fragrant & unscented wax tapers, votives and jar candles by Colonial.
EXPLORE THE GREAT OUTDOORS IN OUR CONSERVATORY
Step into a forest of Christmas trees this season. For the tabletop: pre-decorated
white-flocked with red accents in two sizes, or select from among three sizes in

BYERS’ CHOICE CAPTURES THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMASES PAST
Joyce Byers made her first carolers because she wanted something reminiscent of her
Christmases growing up. As her son Jeff jokes, “Mom’s hobby has gotten a little out of
control” and now Byers’ Choice handcrafted carolers are a beloved collectible around
the country. The individual care from each artisan in the Byers’ Pennsylvania workshop
results in distinctive figures that capture the warmth and spirit of Christmas.
The collection has expanded to also celebrate Thanksgiving, Halloween
and 4th of July, and every year new pieces are added. This year
brings the introduction of taller 15” pieces, starting with three key
figures: Walking Caroling Woman, Walking Caroling Man and
Walking in Winter Wonderland Santa. Mary, Joseph and baby
Jesus are the first figures in the new Nativity series. Shepherds,

6 Tbsp. butter, melted
¼ cup Red & Green Peppermint Candy
Crunch*
¼ cup Merckens Super White Chocolate
Wafers*
4 oz. Robert Rothschild Farm Candy Cane
Dip*
8 oz. Cool Whip
6 oz. bag Robert Rothschild Farm Chocolate
Pretzel Dippers*
In a food processor or grinder, chop Chocolate Pretzel Dippers to “breadcrumb” consistency.
Add melted butter. Spread on bottom and side surface of a 9” pie pan. Bake crust in 350°
oven for 8 minutes to set. Place Merckens Super White Chocolate Wafers on warm crust to
melt. Spread white chocolate and cool. Gently fold Peppermint Candy Cane Dip and Cool
Whip. Pour into cooled pie crust. Garnish with Red & Green Peppermint Candy Crunch.
Chill for at least 4 hours or freeze. Let the frozen pie rest at room temperature for 20 minutes
before slicing.

Dear Little Traveler,
Growing up I went to the Little Traveler with my mom and her friends as a “day
out.” I was walking out through the kitchen area today as I heard a fifty/sixtysome-year-old woman say, “Here, Mom, take my hand and we will walk together.” As I was waiting to turn onto Third Street I had my windows down
and I heard a twenty/thirty-year-old woman say to her daughter, “Here, take my
hand and we will walk in together.” It just did my heart good. Little Traveler is
