Make a photocopy of the Pink sheet for your own records
 If there is a concern regarding a particular class, parents and
students are advised to speak directly with the teacher to
resolve the situation.
 One of the skills acquired in high school
is learning to adapt to different teaching
styles and personalities.
 Usually concerns involve a communication issue and can be
resolved after a parent/student/teacher meeting.
 Teacher appointments can be scheduled through the front desk
in the Student Services building at 821-1754 or by emailing the
teacher.

Want to be in AVID?
❖ AVID is a rigorous elective class offered to students who would
like to prepare for four-year colleges and universities.
❖ Students must have satisfactory citizenship, good attendance,
and a G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher.
❖ Applicants must be motivated to work toward college
eligibility.
(AVID is NOT an intervention for low-performing students or a free
study period to hang out)
Who can be in AVID?
A typical AVID student:
❖ Has Academic Potential
➢ Average to high test scores
➢ 2.5 - 3.5 GPA
➢ Willing to work hard to access some of the most challenging
courses at AHS.
➢ Open to a rigorous elective course that will focus on study
strategies.
➢ Needs guidance and support through the college application
process
