Erasmus+ Programme
To apply for Erasmus stay at the Faculty of Humanities, CU you have to be enrolled at one of our partner universities.
STEP 1 - NOMINATION (contact your home Erasmus coordinator)
If you wish to come to study at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, your home university must officially nominate
you. In the first instance, you must therefore contact the ERASMUS coordinator at your home university.
All nominated prospective students will then receive an informative email on the application procedure itself and further
information from the FHS International Office directly.
STEP 2 - ON - LINE REGISTRATION
Please note that this is an obligatory process – so if you have filled in the standard forms (on paper) without registering
on-line we must ask that you still register on-line.

STEP 3 – DESIGN YOUR Learning Agreement
Information on course offerings is available here .
STEP 4 – CONFIRMATION of Essential Forms: Application Form + Learning Agreement
The printed out forms are to be checked and confirmed/signed by the relevant coordinators of your home university.
Remember that forms must be delivered in time. Your application cannot be accepted after the closing date for
any reason whatsover.

Visiting students - CEEPUS Free-mover scheme; International
Visegrad Fund scholarship programme (IVF)
If you intending to apply for a scholarship within these scholarship programmes, the Letter of Acceptance / Letter of
Invitation from a prospecitve host institution is required.
If interested in pursuing your study/research stay at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, you will need to apply
as a visiting student to the FHS first.
Please note that it is recommended to apply for the the Letter of Acceptance well in advance before the application
deadline of the respective scholarship programme so that your request for the Letter of Acceptance can be considered.
Please follow the instruction bellow:
If you are a MA student wishing to pursue a semester study stay at the FHS attending courses (e.g. the Master´s
scholarship (MA) within the IVF scholarhip scheme), you are expected to send us a preliminary list of courses that
you would like to attend during your stay, your Letter of Motivation and the Letter of Recommendation from your home
university.
The documents to be sent to the FHS International Office at: [email protected] .
If you are a PhD student aiming to pursue a semester or short-term study-research stay at the FHS working on your
research/dissertation (e.g. the Post-Master´s Scholarship (PhD) within the IVF scholarhip scheme), you are expected
to find an academic advisor (or department) to consult your work in progress with during your study period first, and
get an e-mail confirmation from him/her.
In order to find out a suitable department and your academic advisor at the Faculty of Humanities, you may visit the
section Faculty Structure and Faculty Members for the full list of faculty departments and members. By clicking on
the particular name listed in the section Staff, you also get the list of courses taught by the particular teacher. Through
the subjects and their descriptions there, you can get an idea what the academic interests of a particular teacher are.
You may also access the e-mail addresses of the teachers through this website.
Contact him/her via e-mail with your enquiry, providing him/her with your "Study-research work plan" (in case of IVF,
it is a Work Plan to be submitte with the Visegrad Scholarship application), i.e. the description of your study-research
project together with overall aims and objectives of your stay, including also the list of issues to be consulted and the
title of your dissertation, as well as with other supporting documents (your CV including the list of publications, and the
letter of recommendation issued by the supervisor or other member of the academic staff at your home university).
We recommend that you mention that you are applying within a particular scholarship scheme (e.g. Visegrad Fund
Scholarship Programme etc.) when contacting the lecturer with your enquiry.
Please send this e-mail enquiry and the documents in a copy also to the International Office at
[email protected] .
Once you receive the e-mail confirmation from the respective member of the Faculty, send it to the International office
for further procedure.
Czech Republic bilateral international agreements
This scheme offers scholarships that are designed for visiting university/college students or graduates and Ph.D.
candidates who wish to accomplish a study or research stay at one of the Czech public institutions of higher education. Its
length usually ranges from 2 to 10 months depending upon the agreement made by the Czech government and the
foreign government concerned that specifies also the categories of eligible recipients.

PhD (MA) students wishing to pursue a semester or shortterm (study)research stay at the FHS
If you are a PhD (MA) student aiming to pursue a semester or short-term study-research stay at the FHS working
on your research/dissertation, first you need to find an academic advisor (or department) to consult your work
in progress with during your study period.
STEP 1
With respect to your study field and the issues addressed in your dissertation, please select a relevant academic member
of the Faculty (or a department), and contact him/her via e-mail with your enquiry, providing him/her with your "Study-

research work plan" (the description of your study-research project together with overall aims and objectives of your
stay, including also the list of issues to be consulted and the title of your dissertation) and the other supporting documents
(your CV including the list of publications, and the letter of recommendation issued by the supervisor or other member
of the academic staff at your home university).
This e-mail enquiry and the documents to be also sent in a copy to the International Office at [email protected] .
When applying within a particular scholarship scheme (e.g. Visegrad Fund Scholarship Programme, CEEPUS
programme for freemovers, Intergovernmental agreements etc.), we recommend that you refer to this when contacting
the lecturer with your enquiry.
Where to find the list of FHS Departments and the academic staff?
To find out a suitable department and your academic advisor at the Faculty of Humanities, you may visit the section
Faculty Structure and Faculty Members . By clicking on the particular name listed in the section Staff, you also get
the list of courses taught by the particular teacher. Through the subjects and their descriptions there, you can get an
idea what the academic interests of a particular teacher are. You may also access the e-mail addresses of the teachers
through this website.
STEP 2
Once you receive the e-mail confirmation from the respective member of the Faculty, you have addressed, that he/she
supports your Work Plan, you are also expected to complete and submit the FHS application form (available here )
together with the supporting documents (Study-research work plan, CV, the letter of recommendation, a copy of
the e-mail confirmation from the potential FHS academic advisor, the certificate of curent enrollment at home
university), so that we are able to finalize the administration procedure related to your admission (in addition we can
also ask for your official Transcript of Records and a proof of language skills).
STEP 3
If your application is approved and you are accepted at the FHS, the Letter of Acceptance is then issued by the
International Office of the Faculty of Humanities.
