Have a wander into Sibenik which is probably Croatia’s least ‘touristy’ city so makes a good base for those seeking a more authentic view
of Croatian life. Sibenik bay, which is 10 km long and 300-1200 meters wide, opens towards the open sea and islands through a narrow
curving channel which provides a protected environment for sailors and bathers.
The main feature of the old town is the UNESCO world heritage Cathedral of St James, badly damaged during the war it is now being restored
to it’s former glory. The cobbled streets around the cathedral are full of little shops and restaurants and of course the obligatory ice cream
parlour with a plethora of flavours .
