(See POA form below) "WE MAKE CLEARING AND SHIPPING AS EASY AS ABC, 123." Dear FIME 2015 Exhibitor, We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the FIME 2015 Show. It is our mission to assist you through the process of importing your medical devices and products into the United States for exhibition. We will guide you through the various and complicated levels of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rules and regulations. So let’s get started. In order to have the best chance of clearing the hurdles of CBP and FDA there are specific requirements that must be met. All medical devices and medical products are governed by the FDA and its complex rules and regulations. The devices and products that you are planning to exhibit must meet all CBP & FDA rules for compliance, labeling, testing, etc. and must be FDAapproved. If your products have been FDA-approved then you will have all of the information needed to make entry such as; Device Listing, Manufacturer Registration, Premarket Notification (510(k)), Premarket Approval, Device Initial Importer, etc. and we will require that information as well as copies of the specific document in order to clear CBP and FDA and move your goods to the show site. If the devices and products are not FDA-compliant there are procedures that must be followed to exhibit and ultimately export the goods when the show is completed. It is very important to understand and comply with these requirements so your products can be exhibited and avoid any fines or penalties for non-compliance. We strongly suggest your devices and products arrive in the Miami, Florida no later than July 17. 2015. Please fax or e-mail all shipping documents, invoices, packing lists, FDA documents, etc. as soon as possible. We have provided the following websites for you to review: FDA Website: http://www.fda.gov Medical Device Advice: http://www.fda.gov/MedicalDevices/DeviceRegulationandGuidance Importing Medical Devices into the U.S.: http://www.fda.gov/MedicalDevices/DeviceRegulationandGuidance/ImportingandExportingDevices If you have any questions please contact us and we will look forward to seeing you at the show. Under FDA rules if the items do not meet FDA specifications and are not registered with the FDA they must be re-exported or destroyed within 90 days. If the FDA items are not exported or destroyed in accordance with established Customs & Border Protection (CBP) & FDA procedures substantial fines and penalties will be incurred. As the exhibitor you must maintain control of the inventory of the goods that are FDA-regulated. This means any FDA-regulated items cannot be sold, given away, or disposed in any manner other than re-export or destruction under CBP/FDA supervision.
