A New Honeycomb Technology FLYCORE is a high performance honeycomb product made from a new aeration process called melt-stretching that entails pulling melted thermoplastic between heated plates on an up-acting press. A One-Shot Process -The face sheets are integral with the webbing since they are formed from the same melt. This gives our product a performance advantage over existing honeycombs -It is fully recyclable since it is made from one thermoplastic -The manufacturing process is simpler and faster, requiring less equipment and factory space to produce Above - closed cell Polycarbonate sample with a hexagonal grid. Square, triangular and other geometries are possible, as are different materials such as PP, PU, and PE. Density and pull dimension are also variable. The webbing can be made heavier or lighter to suit the application. With variable pull dimensions, material thickness currently ranges from 1/8” to 6” without the need to change the press set-up.
