Re: Request for Documentation
Tree Top is an agricultural cooperative owned by more than 1,000 apple and pear growers throughout
Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Tree Top has seven facilities located in Washington, Oregon and
California that produces fruit juices, apple sauce, fruit juice concentrates, purees and fresh, frozen and
dried fruit products. Our Corporate Headquarters are located in Selah, Washington.
Tree Top has received your request for documentation for supplier certification, and quality compliance.
Tree Top appreciates your business, unfortunately due to the overwhelming number of requests for
documentation, we cannot always address each one individually. In order to streamline our process and
respond to you in a timely manner, we have provided the following information in lieu of completing
individual forms. Hopefully, this information will address the majority of key questions listed in your
documents. You may also find additional information and documentation in our resource library on our
ingredients website at www.treetopingredients.com/document.
FDA Registration:
All facilities are registered in compliance with the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and renew
the registration as required by law. Tree Top has also confirmed that all of our suppliers, where
applicable, have complied with the registration requirements as outlined. Tree Top has chosen to keep
the individual numbers confidential as is recommended.
SQF and Food Safety Audits:
Tree Top facilities undergo a 3rd party audit annually. All of the Tree Top facilities are currently SQF
Certified.
HACCP and Pre-requisite Programs:
Tree Top will provide safe products to its customers by using the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point
management system in all plant facilities. The HACCP management system deals with the control of
factors affecting ingredients, product and process. The object is to make the product safely and prove
that the product has been made safely. All Tree Top facilities have established HACCP plans, flow charts
and pre-requisite programs to meet these requirements. A dedicated HACCP team has been established
for each facility and all programs are reviewed at least annually.
Traceability:
All ingredients and finished products are given a unique lot number for traceability in our system. This
allows us to trace our product from the receiving of the fruit and other ingredients to the product
produced and shipped to the customer. Mock recalls are performed at the facilities at least annually to
monitor the effectiveness of our ability to trace product should a recall ever become necessary.

Lot Coding:
Tree Top product lot codes use a Julian date based system. Generally, the product lot code will consist of
the 2-digit year, 3 digit Julian date followed by a 2-digit plant code, 2-digit line code or item type number
and the final 2 to 3 digits (depending on the product type) will indicate the batch or pallet number.
Kosher:
Most products produced by Tree Top, Inc. are certified Kosher by the Orthodox Jewish Congregations of
America and carry the OU symbol.
Halal:
Tree Top products are currently not Halal certified but are Halal compliant in that they do not contain
alcohol, natural L-cysteine extracted from hair or feathers, animal fats and/or extracts, bloods of any
origin, blood plasma, pork and/or other meat by-products, and alcohol is not used as a processing aid.
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS):
Tree Top fruit juice and fruit products are considered to be “food”. We are not aware of any chemicals
that may be present in these foods that may be hazardous to your health. Since these products are
considered to be “food”, they are exempt from OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (Revised July 1, 1985) and do not
require an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). The above information is believed to be correct, but does
not purport to be all-inclusive and shall be used only as a guide.
Organic Certifications:
Tree Top does offer organic products. Products produced in Washington State are certified Organic by the
Washington State Department of Agriculture, the facilities in Oregon are certified by Oregon Tilth. These
certificates are available on our website at http://foodingredients.treetop.com/document.
Bioengineered Foods/Genetically Modified Organisms:
Food and food ingredients from genetically engineered plants were introduced into the U.S. food supply in
the 1990s. The FDA regulates the safety of foods and food products from plant sources including food
from genetically engineered plants. Currently, Tree Top only accepts fruit grown by our owner/growers or
commercial growers producing industry-standard, traditional fruit varieties. Certain ingredients currently
in use, such as ascorbic acid, beet sugar, some flavors and processing aids may be derived from
bioengineered ingredients. Whenever possible, traditional non-bioengineered ingredients are utilized.
Allergens:
All Tree Top facilities have an Allergen awareness program. Some of the Tree Top facilities may utilize the
following allergens: Soy (soy lecithin), Tree nuts (Coconut, Lychee nut), Wheat (modified wheat starch).
The Ross dried plant in Selah, Washington has a separate Allergen Room which is utilized for those
products containing any allergens or gluten. All ingredients and finished products are prominently labeled
and allergen containing products stored in segregated areas to avoid any cross contamination.
Gluten Free:
Most products are produced in facilities that do not utilize any gluten in their processes.

No Tree Top products are produced with irradiation.
Sewage/Sludge:
To the best of our knowledge, no products that Tree Top, Inc. produces are grown using sewage or sludge.
Letters of Guarantee/Certificates of Insurance:
A Letter of Guarantee stating that the product has not been adulterated nor misbranded as well as a
General Liability insurance policy with a $2,000,000 aggregate limit with an Umbrella policy that adds
additional coverage can be issued upon request.

Dear Customer:
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) adopted regulations to implement the Public
Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002 (The
Bioterrorism Act) and as of December 12, 2003, all food facilities be registered and that
notice be given to the FDA before foods are imported. The FDA Food Safety
Modernization Act (FSMA) enacted January 4, 2011 amended the food facility
registration requirements in section 415 of the FD&C Act. All Tree Top facilities are
individually registered, and current with the biennial registration requirements. Tree
Top has also confirmed that all of our suppliers, where applicable, have complied with
the registration requirements as outlined.
In the Bioterrorism Act, Congress directed the FDA to keep registration information
confidential for security reasons. At Tree Top, Inc., we respect that decision and in the
spirit of cooperation with government efforts to assure the safety of the food supply, we
have determined that we must keep our facility registration information confidential.
Therefore, we will not ask for your registration information either.
In order to protect our mutual business interests, please make sure that your company
fully complies with all aspects of the Bioterrorism Act of 2002 and FSMA enacted
amendments.

SUBJECT: POSITION ON GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS (GMOs)
Tree Top is a fruit-processing cooperative owned by U.S. apple and pear growers in the Pacific Northwest. We
maintain regular monitoring of federally approved GMO fruits to ensure our policies and procedures
accurately reflect our position.
We fully believe in the consumer’s right to know what’s in their food and we support the creation of federal
transparent labeling laws.
We are in full agreement with the US Apple Association’s position which, “Supports the consumer choice in
selecting the apples and apple products they purchase. Consumer demand will determine the future of GMO
apples in the U.S. marketplace.”
Other fruits needed beyond those available from our own grower-owners are purchased from commercial growers
producing industry-standard, traditional fruit varieties and are sourced from suppliers certifying non-GMO fruit.
Certain ingredients such as High Fructose Corn Syrup and beet sugar, as well as some processing aids used in very small
quantities may contain bioengineered DNA. All ingredients are listed on the ingredient statement and whenever
possible, non-GMO sources are utilized.
Again, Tree Top supports transparent labeling and we are more than happy to inform consumers about the simple
ingredients in our healthful, fruit-based products.

GLUTEN STATEMENT
Gluten is the protein that occurs naturally in wheat, rye, barley, and crossbreeds of these
grains. Foods that typically contain gluten include breads, cakes, cereals, pastas, and many
other foods.
In August of 2013, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a regulation that defines
the term “gluten-free” for food labeling.
Tree Top has a comprehensive Supplier Verification policy. As part of this program, all suppliers
are asked to disclose gluten content or contamination in the products that they provide. Some
Tree Top facilities do not utilize any ingredients that may potentially contain gluten. The

SELLER’S FOOD GUARANTEE AND WARRANTY
TREE TOP, INC. (“Seller”) hereby guarantees and warrants to ________________________that all merchandise
comprising each shipment or other delivery hereafter made to the Buyer, as of the date of shipment or delivery,
complies with the following terms and conditions:
(a) The product is neither adulterated nor misbranded within the meaning of the Federal Food, Drug and
Cosmetic Act of 1938, as amended, the Federal Fair Packaging and Labeling Act of 1966, as amended, or any
other food or drug law or regulation, the adulteration and misbranding provisions of which are substantially
the same as those found in the Federal acts. Additionally, Seller certifies that the products in question
comply with the Model State Weights and Measures Law, the Model State Packaging and Labeling
Regulation, and any other laws or regulations, which are substantially the same as the Model Act or
Regulation;
(b) The product is manufactured and sold in compliance with the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, as
amended, and all rules, regulations, and orders issued thereunder;
(c) The product is sold in full compliance with the Robinson-Patman Act, and all other Federal and State
antitrust statutes, the provisions of which are substantially the same as those found in the Robinson-Patman
Act. However, Seller assumes no responsibility in those situations where the conduct of the Buyer is itself in
violation of applicable State or Federal antitrust laws or regulations;
(d) The product complies with all other State and local laws and regulations of which the Seller has knowledge,
either independently or by specific directive from Buyer;
(e) The Seller will accept full responsibility for claims made against the Buyer if the investigation shows that the
merchandise did not become contaminated as a result of handling by the Buyer and if the entire handling of
the consumer claim is left in the hands of the Seller. The Seller is insured under a Product Liability Insurance
Policy written by a responsible insurance carrier, covering all product liability claims up to a maximum limit
as stated on the Certificate. Buyer shall be covered by such insurance by the inclusion thereon of a Vendor’s
Endorsement in broad form. Seller further agrees to indemnify and hold Buyer harmless from any loss
resulting from Seller’s failure to have insurance, endorsement and claims protection as aforesaid, where
such loss does not result from Buyer’s negligence.
A Certificate will be sent in evidence of products liability insurance.
THE FOREGOING PROVISIONS of the Guarantee and Warranty shall be applicable to all foods furnished by Seller to
Buyer unless Buyer is provided timely registration or certified written notice to the contrary.

Tree Top is an agricultural cooperative owned by more than 1,000 apple and pear growers throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Tree Top is the leader in the fruit processing industry. Our Corporate Headquarters are located in Selah, WA, in the heart of Washington’s apple country. Below is a listing of our facilities. Selah Plant 205 South Railroad Avenue, Selah, WA 98942 Phone: 509‐698‐1430, Fax: 509‐698‐1477 The Selah Plant is Tree Top’s largest retail packaging facility. This manufacturing location has nine production lines and 450,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and warehouse space. This facility not only packages PET, polypro, aluminum, and aseptic for our brand, it also contract manufactures beverages for other national brands. While beverages are the facility’s major activity, it also produces apple sauce in 4 oz., 2.4 oz., 24 oz., 48 oz., and 5 gallon bag‐in‐box for our Tree Top and Seneca brands. 101 South Railroad Avenue, Selah, WA 98942 Phone: 509‐698‐1432, Fax: 509‐698‐1417 Ross Plant The Ross Plant is one of two Tree Top dried fruit manufacturing facilities and produces evaporated and low moisture apples, as well as drum dried fruits. The facility produces dried apples in many sizes, from rings to 1/8” x 1/8” apple chips, and offers a wide range of specialty infused apples. The operations team at our Ross facility also oversees the operation of our fresh sliced apple processing plant. The Fresh Slice Plant processes fresh apple slices and chunks used in the retail and Foodservice industry. 3981 Chelan Hwy, Wenatchee, WA 98801 Phone: 509‐663‐8583, Fax: 509‐667‐7190 Wenatchee Plant The Wenatchee Plant is an 80,000 sq. ft. production facility situated along the Columbia River. This plant manufactures “Individually Quick Frozen” (IQF) apples, solid pack, and sugar‐capped apples, which are mainly used by the baking industry. In addition, this plant produces low moistures apples in numerous fruit flavors for use in cereal and snack bar products. It is also home to our fruit “puffing” operation, which alters the texture of an apple piece by forcing air into the cellular structure, giving it the texture of a potato chip. 2780 Lee Road, Prosser, WA 99350 Phone: 509‐786‐2926, Fax: 509‐786‐4128 Prosser Plant The Prosser Plant was acquired from Seneca Foods in February 1999. This manufacturing facility mainly produces Concord grape, blackberry, cherry, peach, plum, raspberry, apple, and pear juice concentrates. With 4.9 million gallon storage capacity, this facility produces various flavor blends of juice concentrates. The Prosser plant also processes “Individually Quick Frozen” (IQF) cherries, which include Bings, Vans, and Lamberts. They also package some of our retail products, such as composite frozen 3+1 and 5+1 juice, sauce tubes, and RTD 46 oz. juice in tin cans. 1250 E. 3rd Street, Oxnard, CA 93030 Phone: 805‐483‐3030, Fax: 805‐240‐7703 Oxnard Plant The Sabroso Company and the Oxnard facility was a wholly‐owned subsidiary from October 2008 until August 2010 when the Sabroso branded products and manufacturing facilities were integrated into the Tree Top family of fruit offerings. The facility creates ingredients for the food manufacturing industry such as puree, whole and sliced fruit, heat treated, non‐heat treated, or frozen. These ingredients are used in many items such as ice cream, yogurt, bakery, and drinks. The facility employs approximately 50 employees who operate three processing lines including a fresh strawberry line. 690 S. Grape Street, Medford, OR 97501 Phone: 541‐772‐5653, Fax: 541‐608‐0746 Medford Plant The Medford plant (formerly Sabroso Company) employs up to 200 people. The facility operates approximately 10 months out of the year to turn fruit into single strength and concentrate purées and formulated fruit sauces that are used for conventional, organic, and baby food. Long before “sustainability” became a buzzword, Tree Top began taking steps to reduce its energy
use, and to reduce waste and environmental impacts. We’ve had a long standing Energy committee,
but during the past few years, a formal sustainability program was established to better capture and
report data, and to identify and engage the organization around areas for improvement, and to
convey our results. The Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability Committee, formed in 2009, reports
directly to our CEO and, in turn, our Board of Directors. The charter of the Committee is: “To promote
social, economic and environmental health through education, influence and action.” By listening to
stakeholders, including business partners, customers, the public, employees, etc., we determined our
primary focus areas. Our Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability Committee targeted in on those
areas and focused the organization’s efforts on collecting baseline data and developing a plan to
address each area more proactively.
