2015 Fordham Law Review Optional Personal Statement Prompt

Prompt for the 2015 Optional Personal Statement
The Fordham Law Review publishes around 3500 pages of legal scholarship each year,
including many pages of student written Notes. In the United States, the Fordham Law
Review is the fifth most cited law review in other legal journals and the ninth most cited
law review in judicial decisions, according to a recent study by Washington & Lee
University.
2L Staff Members are critical to the success of the Law Review. They contribute to legal
scholarship by writing student Notes and are key to the Law Review’s editorial process.
Upon publishing a Note, 2L Staff Members are eligible to run for the Law Review’s
Editorial Board.
The Fordham Law Review strives to maintain its leadership in American legal
scholarship as well as within the Fordham Law School community. Excellent legal
scholarship and leadership require a range of skills, perspectives, and thought. Describe,
in 500 words or less, how your personal experiences or viewpoints would help the
Fordham Law Review accomplish these goals.
You may begin working on your Statement immediately. However, please note that you
must submit your Statement as the 2015 Unified Writing Competition Rules instruct you
to submit all other Unified Writing Competition materials. With questions, please reach
