In the spring of his freshman year, Tabares served as
Secretary of Academic Affairs for the Student
Government Association. In this role, Tabares worked to
reform the structure of the College Leadership Councils
and their funding processes. In addition, Tabares was the
sole student representative on the QEP/SACS
reaccreditation committee for Florida State University. In
this committee, the “Think FSU” initiative was created,
placing a higher emphasis on critical thinking among
students and their studies.
Elected to the 64th and 66th FSU Student Senate,
Tabares served as president pro-tempore. Working
alongside various students, Tabares gained a clear
perspective on the interconnectedness of the Florida State
community. Within the Student Senate, Tabares was able
to help streamline the funding process for all Registered
Student Organizations. Tabares is a brother of the Pi
Kappa Alpha Fraternity, has previously served two terms
on the Office of Governmental Affairs Board of Directors
and is a Seminole Torchbearer.
