THE MISSION OF TEAM 2530 IS TO INSPIRE STUDENTS WITH INTERESTS RANGING FROM
ENGINEERING TO BUSINESS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS TO BECOME TOMORROW’S LEADERS.
OUR TEAM CULTIVATES CONFIDENCE, INGENUITY, AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCY AMONG
OUR STUDENTS.
About Us
FRC® Team 2530, Inconceivable, from
Rochester, Minnesota builds kids who build
robots. We encourage the pursuit of learning
through science, technology, engineering,
and mathematics; additionally we promote
Gracious Professionalism, student leadership,
and teamwork in all aspects of our students’
lives. We model cooperation as we are
composed of 45 students from six schools and
mentors from a variety of professions. Team
2530 operates with strong communication
which is crucial in the successful coordination
and organization of year-round volunteering
events and technical training. With an
atmosphere of creativity and innovation,
Team 2530 inspires future engineers
through community involvement, spreading
the message of FIRST,® and meaningful
connections with sponsors and mentors.
Team 2530 is comprised of students from four
rivaling high schools and two middle schools,
we exemplify Coopertition. We also have
mentors who teach at different schools. FRC®
is one of the few extracurricular activities that
transcends school boundaries and creates a
unified team. All school colors and rivalries are
set aside for Inconceivable Lime Green.

We organize our team into subgroups: mechanical, electrical, programming, CAD, and
business. These subgroups allow members to pursue their own areas of interest, refine their
skills, and develop a depth of knowledge. We believe in leadership development, so in addition
to the Team Captain positions, each subgroup designates a student leader and a mentor.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Ronald McDonald House
Summer Robotics Camp
Our team uses our skills to not only build
our robot but also our community. Team
2530 maintains a long standing relationship
with the Ronald McDonald House (RMDH),
a home away from home for families with
children undergoing medical treatment at
Mayo Clinic.
Outside of build season, Team 2530 is
active in running our Summer Robotics
Camp. Here, students have had a chance
to investigate fundamental concepts of
science and engineering in our week-long
summer camp. Our participants become
young engineers and work with our Tetrix®
kits, competing as teams in mini-games that
mirror FRC® games.
Fix-It Fair
Recently, we helped our local Cascade
Meadow Wetlands & Environmental Science
Center host a Fix-It Fair. Community
members brought in their broken household
appliances to the Cascade Meadow facility
where our team, along with mechanical and
electrical experts, worked together with the
public to fix the devices.
When local Boy Scouts were struggling to earn
their Robotics patch, Team 2530 started a camp to
meet the Boy Scouts’ requirements.
Boy Scouts
In addition to organizing camps for middle
schoolers, we work with our local Boy
Scouts. In 2013, we held a camp specifically
for Boy Scouts, providing the scouts with
opportunities to obtain their robotics patches
and learn about robotics.
Team 2530 manages a robotics summer camp in
which students build and test a robot using the
Tetrix® system.

CREATIVE LEARNING
Mentoring
Our team has mentored and offered guidance
to four area rookie teams:
• 4624 Rebel Alliance
• 4762 Robo-Saints
• 4859 Cybears
• 4651 FrostBots
We continue to make ourselves available
to these teams for advice and assistance
throughout and outside of build season.
our team’s website, and the website of the
University of Minnesota’s GO FIRST, a student
outreach organization that provides resources
and mentorship to FIRST® teams throughout
Minnesota. Uploaded in December 2014,
the aCADemy has reached other FRC® teams
as evidenced by its over 700 views and 90
downloads.

aCADemy
Team 2530 consistently innovates creative
learning opportunities and inspires engineering
for our team and the extended FIRST®
community. In 2014, we created aCADemy,
a CAD tutorial which provides step-by-step
instructions for computer-aided design. Each
member of our team participates in our 6 week
aCADemy and learns to use Autodesk® Inventor
Professional. In the spirit of Coopertition,
the tutorial has been posted on ChiefDelphi,
