Bill Levitt, 1917 – 2009
This document outlines the fellowship tasks to be performed by a fellow
as he/she serves under the supervision/direction of the Executive
Director (ED) of Friends of Alta from June through September 2015 for
30-40 hours a week. An hourly rate of $8.00 will be paid biweekly for
hours worked. A weekly schedule will be developed with the ED, however
pre-scheduled event dates where the fellow is expected to be present are
provided below for planning purposes.
TASKS1. Represent FOA at summer stewardship events including: Wasatch
Wildflower Festival, trail and restoration work, invasive weed
pulls, and tree planting programs.
a. LCC Cleanup – June 2nd
b. Town of Alta Restoration Day (reservations) – July 18th
c. Wasatch Wildflower Festival – July 25th
d. Tracy Aviary Bird Walk – Aug 23rd
e. Memorial Tree & Seedling Planting – Sept 11th
f. Hawk Watch – Sept 12th
2. Alta Naturalist Hosting at the Albion Grill: Runs July 3 – Sept 7th
a. Fridays ~10am to 6pm (Sat & Sun covered by partners)
b. Monday Sept 7th
3. Invasive Weed Removal and documentation using GPS/GIS
a. Volunteer Weed Pulls: 6/25, 7/16, 8/20, 9/17
4. Vegetation Survey’s in coordination with Bird Survey
a. July 13 – 23 - (M-R, 7am – 5pm)
5. USFS Forest Assessment - August 3 – 21
a. Extended hours during this data collection period
6. Assist with the FOA Conservation Easement Monitoring Program
as needed
7. Assist the ED with office and/or special research projects as
needed.
