Webb, Professor of Physics at Florida International University, as he presents “Cosmic Connection: Life as an Astronomer” Dr. Webb will discuss his journey through graduate school, his experience helping to build the Southeastern Association for Research in Astronomy consortium, the design and construction of the new Stocker AstroScience Center at FIU, and his new ground-breaking CD of astronomy music. Wayna is the Quechua word for “Youth”. Wayna was born out of necessity to keep alive the cultural heritage of its members. Growing up in the U.S., Wayna’s young members embrace their ancestral heritage by playing and sharing the music of the Andes. This show highlights a wide range of traditional instruments from the Andes including guitars, charangos, flutes and panpipes, and percussion instruments. All ages.
