What is FINS Make-up Policy? (New for 2014)
• We are focused on providing the absolute best swim lesson experience as possible. We do realize that conflicts
arise from time to time that require you to miss a regularly scheduled class.
• We believe that you are paying for your child’s spot in the class, not their attendance. It is ideal for your child for
your child to attend their regular classes as all team members, including your child’s teacher, will get to know your child
better. In addition, progress in swim lessons is largely based on consistency.
• Each student is granted 1 free make-up class per month for a missed lesson.
• We do not provide make-ups for missed make-up classes
• Make-ups can be booked within the same week that the class was missed
• Students must be currently enrolled to book a make-up class. All make-up classes must be completed prior to
the student’s last day
• If you know you will be missing a class, please notify us as soon as you know. This will open the spot up for
someone else possibly needing a make-up class.
• We DO NOT provide make up lessons for students enrolled in our Private lessons, Quick FINS lessons or Nemo
(special needs) lessons, as these are all specialty classes and have limited availability.
• Make-ups are based on availability and ARE NOT guaranteed
What is FINS Low Enrollment Policy?
• In the event that group class is scheduled and there are 2 or less students in the class, please understand you
might be required to switch times to properly fill classes
• If you wish to stay in the time slot after management informs of the need for movement, you will be required to
pay for the rate of private lesson
What are FINS Health Policies?
• FINS pool water is kept on a highly-evolved system with regular monitoring and is serviced by a professional pool maintenance company for the best possible water conditions.
• OK to swim: If your child has a clear runny nose, but no fever
• NOT OK to swim: If your child has a fever or any type of contagious condition (respiratory, eye, or skin
rash), or diarrhea. Please do not bring them to class until your doctor has cleared them to continue with physical activity.
• Students with sensitive eyes are encouraged to wear goggles.
What is the FINS Double-Diaper Policy?
• PERMANENT SWIM DIAPERS & DISPOSABLE SWIM DIAPERS ARE REQUIRED for any student not potty
trained or prone to accidents.
• If a child has fecal accident and was not wearing both swim diapers, you will be permanently
excused from the program and no refund or credit will be given for the remaining lessons.
Where do go while my child is swimming?
• View rooms are available for easy and comfortable observation of your child’s swim lessons.
• If your child experiences separation anxiety, the instructor may ask you to remain out of sight for the duration of
the first few classes. Please do not take offense to this request. Your cooperation will help your child focus on the new
environment and adjust to their new teacher. Know that within a few lessons, you will be able to observe your child during
their swim lesson.
• A designated responsible adult must remain on premises throughout the entire lesson
How do I prepare for swim lessons?
• All Band-Aids Must Be Removed Before Swim Lessons
• All Long Hair Must Be Tied Back
• Come prepared with bathing suit, towel, and all other appropriate swimming essentials
What if my child has special needs?
• To best service our many special needs and special care clients, our staff must be made aware of as much
information as possible to properly care for the student. This can be done by filling out our Special Needs form and verbally communicating with our staff.
• Unless otherwise specified, the instructors for these students are NOT registered therapists.
• A doctor’s release may be required for heart conditions, respiratory conditions, diabetes, epilepsy, and anything
that would require special care or emergency procedures. This information will be kept confidential.
