Gallimore Roadrunner
The mission of Gallimore Elementary is to provide opportunities for ALL
students to achieve their personal best in a safe, positive environment.
From the Principal
As the crocuses and tulips bloom at my house I feel energized by the emergence of
spring. I love nothing more than the bright green hues of new vegetation and the
addition of bird songs in the morning. While I know many love the summer, I wish
spring lasted for half the year as the season carries a tune of optimism, growth,
and new possibilities. With this renewed optimism, I am sanguine about next
year’s transition to new schools. While certainly sad to see our staff, students, and
families fractured, I know that next year holds new possibilities and growth opportunities for all of us. So in addition to ensuring a high quality experience for your
child at Gallimore until June 11th, I am committed to ensuring a smooth start at
their new school. Of utmost importance is your child’s social and emotional confidence when they enter their new school on September 8th. Wanting them to enter excited and empowered, we are consciously working on activities to acclimate
students and families to their new school community. I hope parents will start attending PTO meetings this year (dates on back), particularly with upcoming PTO
board elections on the docket. Receiving principals will also be in contact to share
details about upcoming events like kindergarten registration and fun fairs. I hope
to see all of our families at Gallimore’s fun fair June 5th and potentially Miller’s on
May 29th! More importantly, I hope to see new Miller families at the “Seven Habits of Successful Families “ workshop on April 27th. (Flyer and RSVP attached.) The
Seven Habits are the foundation of the Leader in Me model embraced at Miller and
Tonda Elementary. This school-wide leadership philosophy, which we are starting
to introduce at Gallimore, will help increase students’ self-confidence and refine
their leadership skills. Please be proactive with us and attend this workshop so
that your child is setup for success at Miller next year.
Despite just embarking on the Leader in Me program at Gallimore, I see incredible
acts of kindness and leadership each day from staff, students, and families. I am
proud and grateful for the many ways in which we help one another and make this
an incredible learning environment. Thank you to the many families who attended
our recent Donuts at Dawn event, and the great work of the PTO in putting this
together. Our student council continues to do great things every month, like
March’s Humane Society fundraise, the Pennies for Paws campaign, and the upcoming Earth day clean-up. We have much to celebrate each day and I know our
energy and optimism will not wane despite “testing season” and the changes we
have in store for next year. As always, do not hesitate to contact me with your
questions, concerns, or suggestions.
