However, the camp offers an opportunity to enrich reading skills for those who do not require intervention. Each child is helped to read books of their choosing and encouraged to develop a love of learning. The children receive personal attention in a “failure-free” setting. Skills that help children become better and more confident readers are emphasized throughout the day’s activities. Undergraduate students attending Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi serve as teachers for the camp. Camp participants work in small groups, where they experience writing, pleasure reading, phonics, encoding and decoding, reading comprehension and other reading strategies that accommodate various learning styles. _______ Age ____________________________ School ______________________________________ Parent’s or Guardian’s Name ___________________________ Address ________________ Phone _________ Zip _______________ Alternate Phone _______________________________________ Email Address *Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation is providing a free lunch each day from (12-12:30 pm).
