Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why are channels moving?
A: As a cable television Operator, Hotwire Communications must contract with each television channel in order
to offer each channel to you. Many factors are involved in each negotiation and agreement and more often than
not in the cable industry, the negotiation process is lengthy and difficult. Hotwire Communication’s number one
goal is to be mindful of the rate Hotwire is being charged for the channel as this rate directly impacts the costs
Hotwire Communications would have to pass along to you, our customer.
Occasionally, as the result of these negotiations, Hotwire Communications is required to move channels to a
different service level tier. With you the customer in mind, Hotwire has consolidated these necessary changes
into one event to avoid staggering changes over a period of months.
Q: Since Hotwire Communications is moving channels into different packages, will the price change?
A: No, at this time Hotwire Communications’ package rates are not changing. Periodically, Hotwire
Communications must adjust prices due to increases in programming cost. Hotwire Communications
understands the impact cost has on its customers and takes its efforts to minimize programming
increases seriously.
Q: What determined the timing of this change?
A: Hotwire Communications has been in negotiations with various channel providers for several months and is
seeking to limit the customer impact by making as many changes as possible at the same time.
Q: How is Hotwire Communications notifying each customer about these changes?
A: Hotwire Communications is sending a notification by email the week of April 27, 2015. This email will
include a summary of the changes and new channel lineups will be available at www.gethotwired.com.
