Introduction
The 1st Ghana Republican International Trade Fair Dubbed (GHAREITEX EXPO) is being organised, at the Ghana
International Trade Fair Centre, La Accra from 29th June to 6th July 2015. This is to support one of the objectives of the Trade
& Industry Ministry, aimed at enhancing trade promotion & facilitation for both local & international businesses, create the
platform to engage, establish business & social activities & to complement the Republic Day celebrations which is held
annually.

The Big Five Expo
This year, the event is under the theme: ''Spurring Growth in the Ghanaian Business environment''. A consumer &
specialised fair which brings together five major exhibitions under one roof. Hence the phrase the 'BIG FIVE SHOW'.It is the
first time five different exhibitions are being organised under one platform. The inspiration for introducing the Big Five Show
as an integral component of the Ghareitex Expo was drawn from the myth surrounding the figure five (5),its evidence
modelled around the Olympic Ring, the human hand and the Black Star in the centre of the Ghanaian flag, all of which have
five rings, five fingers and five pointers respectively. These inspirations encouraged the inclusion of the Big Five specialized
events in the Expo.( Details and the event profile are listed overleaf)

Events Profile
The following events constitute the different Fairs being organized under the umbrella of the Big 5 Show, the idea is to create a
bigger, broader and larger platform for business engagement amongst exhibitors, visitors and business owners.
The Big Five exhibitions are:(Modelled along the South African Rand show held in South Africa), is an expo that is open to all
institutions & companies whose business activity evolves around the Ghanaian Cedi, therefore it
is a platform that is open to all companies but most especially the financial institutions like the
banks, non bank financial institutions, insurance companies & all those who deals in volumes of cash as a primary medium of
engagement. It is also for companies who engage in exports of raw materials & semi processed goods for exports whose
business activities impact positively & strengthens the cedi through their exports, companies and institutions whose economic
activities aid the stabilization of the Ghanian currency the Ghc cedi.
Ghana Cedi Expo
(The first edition was held at the Children's Park in 2012 in conjunction with the Ghana Peace
Walk. It was a collaboration with the Peace Council of Ghana prior to the 2012 election), is a
health related event bringing together all who are concerned about health promotion,
prevention of ailments from occupational health through to medics, the professional health institutions & organizations as well
as operators of health merchandise in the industry. This event platform is open to companies, various health institutions &
associations, CBO’s, NGO’s & all who operate in the health sector as a profit or non profit making organisation.
2nd Health, Wellness,
Fitness & Lifestyle Expo
(This event is aimed at promoting and opening up the various Districts and Metropolitan areas of
the Country, unearth natural resources that are hidden in these areas for investment to build
their capacity for investment, promotion and marketing and also galvanise their potentials for
Trade and Industry in their various sectors. It is also to highlight the waste management strategy in the various Assemblies,
their revenue mobilisation mechanisms and their contribution to nation building.
It is also aimed at bringing local governance closer to the people by creating a platform for District, Metropolitan Chief
Executives & MP’s from these Assemblies to interact with their constituents & businesses who hitherto can not travel to their
constituencies to engage with their MP’s & Chief Executives to do so under one roof at the fair.

& Waste Expo
(A medium to observe Personal, Societal, Security, Safety, Fire prevention & Disaster
management). This Expo brings together Security, Safety Fire prevention & disaster
management experts & their tools, to provide the needed security consciousness to the citizenry
and facilities to unearth various tools & tips available for security, safety, fire prevention and disaster management. To also
identify merchandise equipment within these sector of human endeavour & companies who are in the forefront of providing
personal, institutional and organizational safety and security. It also brings together agencies that provide post disaster
management to mitigate loses, provide relief that aid and mitigate disaster risks in case they occur.

(This fair is aimed at identifying the main tools which are integral components in Media &
information dissemination. To unearth their potentials to nation building, activating their role in
the promotion of Trade & Industry as well as tools & equipment that are employed and
merchandise in the industry.) The role of Social Media in our business & human endeavour.
Identify all media platform their campaign, roles & objectives. Bring them closer to their listening, viewing & readership. Also
create a one stop shop for companies to interact with Media buying agencies & promote Media brands their existence &
enrichment and for Broadcast Media Houses to host some of their programmes from the fair centre live to the benefit of their
patrons.
