Yes, it’s true. Building upon the award-winning success of the 2012 model, the all-new 2013 Fusion Hybrid
achieves a best-in-class 4.0L/100 km city.1 Our powersplit hybrid architecture helps maximize efficiency
by seamlessly switching between the electric traction motor and its 2.0L Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine.
Powered by state-of-the-art lithium-ion batteries, the traction motor allows Fusion Hybrid to operate
gas-free at speeds of up to 100 km/h. When you’re accelerating at speed or passing, the 2.0L engine
kicks in as needed to power the battery and to enhance performance. Finally, the Regenerative Braking
System captures over 90% of brake energy, and uses it to help recharge the battery and maximize your

Who doesn’t want to drive a plug-in hybrid sedan that can run entirely on electric power at up to highway speeds?
After recharging overnight using its LED-illuminated charge port and standard 120-volt outlet, the 2013 Fusion
Energi Plug-in Hybrid1 starts as an all-electric vehicle. Running in electric (EV) mode, the car constantly
measures the battery state of charge and your driving conditions, and chooses the most efficient mode of
operation – either continuing to run on battery power or turning on the 2.0L Atkinson-cycle gas engine as
needed. On short city trips and in stop-and-go traffic, Fusion Energi may run all electric and use no gasoline.
To reduce your charging time, the ULC-approved, weather-resistant Leviton® 240-volt home charging station2
is recommended by Ford. Ask your local Ford of Canada Certified Electric Vehicle (EV) Dealer how our friends

Active noise cancellation 1 uses the audio system to cancel road noise. In this hushed
atmosphere, voice-activated Ford SYNC®2 responds to your commands. Once paired,
SYNC recognizes your phone and transfers your contacts to support voice calling. It also
plays music from your phone, MP3, USB or iPod.® Just touch a steering wheel button
and say things like “Call: work” or “Play playlist: Favourites.” SYNC also includes 911 Assist®
with GPS location reporting.

If it detects Fusion drifting toward a lane marker, the LaneKeeping System1 is designed to alert you by shuddering the
steering wheel, directing you to correct your path. If you
continue to drift, Fusion applies torque to the steering wheel,
alerting you to steer back toward centre. Drowsy drivers should
promptly heed the warning of the Driver Alert System, which
displays a coffee cup icon in your gauge cluster if it detects that
you need to take a break from driving.

While you’re driving, BLIS® (Blind Spot

Your vehicle’s unique hybrid/electric components are covered during the Hybrid/Electric Unique Component Coverage, which lasts for 8 years or 160,000 km, whichever occurs first.
The following hybrid parts are covered during this extended coverage period: high-voltage battery, hybrid continuously variable transmission, Inverter System Controller (ISC), DC/DC
converter, high-voltage battery connector, battery pack fan assembly, thermistor probe, Hybrid Battery Pack Sensor Module (HBPSM), Battery Energy Control Module (BECM), and PHEV

NOTE: The Lithium-Ion Battery Gradual Capacity Loss
The lithium-ion battery (EV battery) will experience gradual capacity loss with time and use (similar to all lithium-ion batteries), which is considered normal wear and tear. Loss of
battery capacity due to or resulting from gradual capacity loss is NOT covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. See your Owner’s Guide for important tips on how to maximize
the life and capacity of the lithium-ion battery.
