Greetings to Gilmanton School Families:
I am very pleased to announce to the Gilmanton School community that our school has
been nominated as a National Blue Ribbon School. This nomination was initiated by
New Hampshire’s Commissioner of Education, Virginia Barry, recommending us to the
United States Department of Education as a school worthy of consideration. The
Gilmanton School was one of two schools nominated statewide.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes outstanding public and nonpublic schools. In identifying several hundred outstanding schools annually, the program
celebrates some of the most “skilled and effective educators in the country.” The award
is both “a high aspiration and a potent resource of practitioner knowledge.” The
nomination will also include the Gilmanton School into the Commissioner Barry’s Circle
of Excellence, which recognizes “educational innovation and excellence.”
This nomination is a tribute to the entire Gilmanton community. Thank you to the entire
community in helping the Gilmanton School in its pursuit of excellence for all our
students.
