Our 674th Meeting

Message From Our President...
Another great meeting of the
Glendale Coin Club is coming up in just a
few days! This month, we have a program
on California Fractional Gold Coins
which should be of interest to most club
members. Be sure to attend Friday so you
do not miss out!
Please note that for all club auctions
going forward that all auction forms will
be retained by the club. Accordingly, if
you would like an extra copy for your own
records, you will need to bring duplicate
forms. Last month our collections for the
auction did not match our payout and
without those records we were unable to
reconcile the difference. We will discuss
this further at the meeting.
This seems to be the time of year
where there is a shortage of coin shows in
Southern California. You can check out
our coin show calendar on Page 5, and
you will see that. That said, on Saturday,
April 11 there is a free educational
symposium hosted by the CSNA in Long
Beach. There will be four programs on
various numismatic subjects, including
one by GCC member John Duff! I strongly
encourage all of you to attend this event if
you can. See Page 6 for more details.
Finally, be sure to check out the
raffle prizes listed on Page 3. Also bring
your coins for show & tell and auction too.

California Fractional Gold Coins
1852-1857
This month, Jeff Stahl will be presenting a
short program on California Fractional
Gold Coins from 1852-1857. There are
several types of these popular privately
minted small gold coins which were used
in the mostly in the West during and after
the California gold rush. This program
should provide a good deal of information
and will be a great introduction to this
popular area of collecting to all levels of
collectors. Please do not miss this great
program on Friday!
