Selection of candidates for admission to the three years graduation
course for B.Sc. (Medical Lab Technology), B.Sc. Medical Technology (XRay), B.Sc. Medical Technology (Anaesthesia & Operation Techniques), 4
years degree of Bachelor of Clinical Optometry (B.Optom.), 4 years degree
course of B.Sc. (Nursing) and 9 months PHTTC for the year 2015-2016 in
the Government Medical College, Chandigarh shall be made as under
NOTE:

The course is open to Indian Nationals.

Age: Minimum 17 years as on 31.12.2015

The candidates applying for UT Pool (85%) must have passed their
10+2 (Medical) or equivalent examination from the Institute situated
in Chandigarh and as approved by Union Territory, Administration,
Chandigarh.

Candidates desirous of applying for more than one course are not
required to submit separate application but multiple courses can be
chosen in one form only.

The candidate should clearly specify the category against which
he/she wishes to apply (General/SC/In-service).

The course will be taught in English medium only.

In Service candidates should get their study leave of two years & leave
of the kind due sanctioned for pursuing the course. (Not applicable for
B.Sc. Nursing)

B. Eligibility Criteria:
Admission to the Bachelor of Science (Medical Lab Technology) degree
course shall be open to:
1.
A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in
the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology
and English
individually both in Theory as well as practical & must have
obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics,
Chemistry & Biology (PCB)
conducted by a recognized
Board/Council/University.
OR
A person who has passed 10+2 vocational course (Medical Lab
Technology) in their respective elective subjects & English
individually both in theory as well as practical & must have
obtained 50% marks in the aggregate of the 3 elective subjects
conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
OR
A person who has passed Part–I of B.Sc. medical recognized by
Panjab University.
OR
A person holding qualification of 3 yrs. Diploma in MLT
(equivalent to 10+2) & must have obtained aggregate of
minimum 50% marks & passed all the subjects individually
from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be
eligible.
Note:
1.
In respect of candidate belonging to SC the marks obtained as
stated above will be 40% instead of 50% for general category.
2.
A person in regular employment shall also be eligible as inservice candidate provided he/she fulfills any of the above

A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in the
subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology
and English individually
both in Theory as well as practical & must have obtained a minimum
of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB)
conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
OR
A person who passed 10+2 vocational course (X-Ray Techniques) in
all the vocational course subjects of Radiation Physics, Radiography-I
General, Radiography-II Special, Biology & English individually both
in theory as well as in practical & must have obtained 50% aggregate
marks in the 3 vocational subjects and Biology conducted by a
recognized Board/Council/University”.

A person who has passed Part –I of B.Sc medical recognized by Panjab
University.
OR
A person holding qualification of diploma in Radiography/X-ray
Techniques must have obtained aggregate of minimum 50% marks &
passed
all
the
subjects
individually
from
any
recognized
Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she
joined diploma course after passing 10+2 examination with Science
(physics, chemistry and biology) subjects.

Admission to the Pre-Hospital Trauma Technician (PHTTC) course shall
be open to:1. A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Science group with
50% marks with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subjects
conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
2. The admissible age limit for the said course as on 31.12.2015 should
be between 17 years to 25 years.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS OF EXAMINATION/ADMISSION:
1.
The examination will be held on 16.07.15 at 10.30 AM at
Government Medical College, Auditorium, Block O, Sector- 32,
Chandigarh.
Candidates are required to bring their own clip
boards and blue ball point pen.
2.
No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall till
the examination formalities are completed.
3.
Candidate
must
carefully
read
the
“Instructions
to
the
candidate” given on the question paper.
4.
Separate merit list would be prepared for General Category,
Scheduled caste and In-service candidates which will be
displayed on GMCH website on 21.07.2015 after 2.00PM.

6. Candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks (Gen.
Category) & 40% (SC) in the entrance test, to be eligible for
counseling.

A candidate absent at the time of counseling will not be
considered for the admission.
8.
If total marks obtained are same by more than one candidate,
candidate senior in age will be considered.
9.
The selected candidate will have to undergo medical fitness test
& only those candidates who are found medically fit by the
constituted Medical Board will be admitted to the course.
10.
Fee structure of All B.Sc. and B. Optom course is approx.
Rs.9500/- (Gen Category) & Rs. 9000/- (SC Category) per
annum.

Fee for the PHTTC course is Rs. 1000/- approx.

3. If the college authorities find, on the basis of my results in the college
examinations or my failure to take such examinations that I am not a fit
candidate to be promoted to the next higher class or to appear in a
professional examination, I agree to my being detained in the same class or
from appearing in the professional examination.
4. If admitted to the college, I agree that my admission can be cancelled if I
have submitted incorrect or incomplete information to the college
authorities. I agree that in such case any fees paid shall not be refunded to
me.
5. I understand that the day and time of declaration of selection will be notified
on the notice board outside the Director Principal's office on the day of final
selections.
6. I understand that the full fee to be paid by me on being admitted to the
course is as per the Prospectus, that fee is payable either by cash or bank
demand draft in the name of "Director Principal, Government Medical
College, Chandigarh" and that personal cheques will not be accepted.
7. I agree to pay all dues regularly as notified by the college from time to time and
on dates fixed for the purpose and understand that fees/ dues once paid are
not refundable. I agree that any outstanding dues against me when I leave the
college, shall be adjusted by the authorities concerned from my security
deposit. I understand that after the final selection is made, the list of selected
candidates, along with the waiting list candidates will be displayed on the
notice board of the Government Medical College, Chandigarh and that no other
notification of such results will be issued. I understand that the successful
