Eligibility Criteria: Admission to the Bachelor of Science (Medical Lab Technology) degree course shall be open to: 1. A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually both in Theory as well as practical & must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University. OR A person who has passed 10+2 vocational course (Medical Lab Technology) in their respective elective subjects & English individually both in theory as well as practical & must have obtained 50% marks in the aggregate of the 3 elective subjects conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University. OR A person who has passed Part–I of B.Sc. medical recognized by Panjab University. OR A person holding qualification of 3 yrs. Diploma in MLT (equivalent to 10+2) & must have obtained aggregate of minimum 50% marks & passed all the subjects individually from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible. Note: 1. In respect of candidate belonging to SC the marks obtained as stated above will be 40% instead of 50% for general category. 2. OR A person who has passed Part –I of B.Sc medical recognized by Panjab University. OR A person holding qualification of diploma in Radiography/X-ray Techniques must have obtained aggregate of minimum 50% marks & passed all the subjects individually from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she joined diploma course after passing 10+2 examination with Science (physics, chemistry and biology) subjects. Note: 1. In respect of candidate belonging to SC the marks obtained as stated above will be 40% instead of 50% for general category. 2. A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually both in Theory as well as practical & must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University. OR A person who has passed 10+2 Vocational Course (Ophthalmic Technique) in their respective elective subjects and English individually both in theory as well as practical and must have obtained 50% marks in the aggregate of the three elective subjects conducted by recognized Board/Council / University. OR A person who has passed Part –I of B.Sc medical recognized by Panjab University. OR A person holding qualification of diploma in Ophthalmic Techniques (2 or 3 years) must have obtained aggregate of minimum 50% marks and passed all the subjects individually from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she joined diploma course after passing 10+2 exam with science (physics, chemistry & biology). Note: In respect of candidate belonging to SC the marks obtained as stated above will be 40% instead of 50% for general category. 2. A person in regular employment shall also be eligible as in-service candidate provided he/she fulfills any of the above categories of qualification and is in regular employment with UT Health / Medical Education and Research and has completed experience of five or more years as Optometrist/Ophthalmic Assistant in U.T Health / Medical Education and Research Department subject to submission of NOC from the employer. 11 V B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course (4 years): A. A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually both in Theory as well as practical & must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University OR Note: 1. In respect of candidate belonging to SC the marks obtained as stated above will be 40% instead of 50% for general category. 2. All admissions to B.Sc Nursing course shall be provisional and subject to the approval of Panjab University, Punjab Nurses Registration Council and Indian Nursing Council. 13 VI PRE HOSPITAL TRAUMA TECHNICIAN COURSE (PHTTC) (9 MONTHS CERTIFICATE COURSE) A. B. Distribution of seats Categories No. of seats General 17 Scheduled caste 03 Total Seats 20 Eligibility Criteria: Admission to the Pre-Hospital Trauma Technician (PHTTC) course shall be open to:1. A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Science group with 50% marks with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subjects conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University. 2. The admissible age limit for the said course as on 31.12.2015 should be between 17 years to 25 years. 14 III. SCHEME OF EXAMINATION: Scheme of examination shall be as under For the selection of the candidate of all categories to the course, candidate has to qualify Aptitude/Entrance Test to be conducted by the Government Medical College, Chandigarh. Merit will be prepared by on the basis of the marks obtained in the Aptitude/Entrance Test. Pattern of the entrance examination (MCQs based) will be as under:A. FOR 10+2 (MEDICAL GROUP i.e. Physics, Chemistry & Biology) PASSED CANDIDATE (FOR ALL STREAMS OF COURSES) & FOR B.Sc. (Nursing) The theory paper will consist of objective type question in the following subjects:i. Chemistry 25 questions 25 marks ii. Physics 25 questions 25 marks iii Biology 25 questions 25 marks iv. General English 15 questions 15 marks v. Gen. Knowledge/Current Affairs 10 questions 10 marks The standard of theory paper will be 10+2 (MEDICAL GROUP) B. (a) FOR 10+2 (VOCATIONAL STREAM) PASSED CANDIDATES & DIPLOMA IN RESPECTIVE DISCIPLINE PASSED CANDIDATES For B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) The theory paper will consist of objective type questions in the following subjects: i. Anatomy and Physiology 25 questions 25 marks ii. Biology & Chemistry 25 questions 25 marks iii Lab Techniques 25 questions (Microbiology, Biochemistry, Haematolory & Histopathology) 25 marks iv. General English 15 marks v. Gen. Knowledge/Current Affairs 10 questions 15 questions 10 marks 15 (b) For B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-Ray) The theory paper will consist of objective type questions in the following subjects:i. Anatomy and Physiology 25 questions 25 marks ii. Radiation Physics & Biology 25 questions 25 marks iii. Radiographic Techniques 25 questions 25 marks iv. General English 15 questions 15 marks v. Gen. Knowledge/Current Affairs 10 questions (c) For Bachelor of Clinical Optometry (B.Optom.) 10 marks The theory paper will consist of objective type question in the following subject: i. Biology-Ophthalmic 25 questions 25 marks ii. Optics 25 questions 25 marks iii. Ophthalmic Techniques 25 questions 25 marks iv. General English 15 questions 15 marks v. Gen. Knowledge/Current Affairs10 questions 10 marks For all the courses, the duration of the entrance paper will be of two hours. There will be no negative marking. 16 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS OF EXAMINATION/ADMISSION: 1. The examination will be held on 16.07.15 at 10.30 AM at Government Medical College, Auditorium, Block O, Sector- 32, Chandigarh. Candidates are required to bring their own clip boards and blue ball point pen. 2. No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall till the examination formalities are completed. 3. Candidate must carefully read the “Instructions to the candidate” given on the question paper. 4. Separate merit list would be prepared for General Category, Scheduled caste and In-service candidates which will be displayed on GMCH website on 21.07.2015 after 2.00PM. 5. Qualifying marks for eligible candidates appearing in entrance test: General Category: 50% In-service Candidate: 50% Scheduled caste: 40% 6. Candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks (Gen. Category) & 40% (SC) in the entrance test, to be eligible for counseling. 7. A candidate absent at the time of counseling will not be considered for the admission. 8. If total marks obtained are same by more than one candidate, candidate senior in age will be considered. 9. The selected candidate will have to undergo medical fitness test & only those candidates who are found medically fit by the constituted Medical Board will be admitted to the course. 10. Fee structure of All B.Sc. and B. Optom course is approx. Rs.9500/- (Gen Category) & Rs. 9000/- (SC Category) per annum. 11. Fee for the PHTTC course is Rs. 1000/- approx. If the college authorities find, on the basis of my results in the college examinations or my failure to take such examinations that I am not a fit candidate to be promoted to the next higher class or to appear in a professional examination, I agree to my being detained in the same class or from appearing in the professional examination. 4. If admitted to the college, I agree that my admission can be cancelled if I have submitted incorrect or incomplete information to the college authorities. I agree that in such case any fees paid shall not be refunded to me. 5. I understand that the day and time of declaration of selection will be notified on the notice board outside the Director Principal's office on the day of final selections. 6. I understand that the full fee to be paid by me on being admitted to the course is as per the Prospectus, that fee is payable either by cash or bank demand draft in the name of "Director Principal, Government Medical College, Chandigarh" and that personal cheques will not be accepted. 7.
