Day 1 - Port of Pascagoula Ministry: Please pray
for the JCBA Seafarers Ministry. JCBA operates two seamen
centers on the ports of Pascagoula that serve the needs of more
than 5,000 seafarers each year. Pray that by meeting some of the
physical needs of seafarers and port employees we will be able to
meet their spiritual needs.
Financial support from churches allow us
to purchase Bibles, Bible study material,
evangelistic literature, and "Jesus" videos
in many languages. Pray for Adrian and
Frances Turner who have led the ministry since 2005.
Church Focus: Please pray for these churches: Arlington
Heights, Belle Fountain, Calvary, Cambridge, Church @ the
Square, and East Moss Point.
Day 2 - Missions Jackson County & Summer
Teams: Please pray for volunteers from the
Southern Baptist Churches in Jackson County
who seek to meet the needs of their neighbors
through construction projects. Each 3rd Sat. of
the months through October 2015, churches can
partner with the association in meeting needs.
Pray for the Summer Missions Teams
scheduled to minister through our churches this summer in
conducting Vacation Bible Schools and other outreach activities.
Most of the teams stay in the JCBA Ministry Building, which can
house over 40 individuals. Financial support from churches help
cover the cost of maintaining this facility. Pray for JCBA Ministry
Coordinator, Derrick Tapper, who facilitates these ministries.
Church Focus: Pray for these churches: Eastlawn, Emmanuel,
Escatawpa, Fort Bayou, Four Mile Creek, and Franklin Creek.
Day 3 - Mission Partners in the Caribbean
–
Please pray for “But God” Ministries and their ministry in Haiti. In
2010 an earthquake devastated Haiti, destroying its capital of Portau-Prince and killing more than 200,000 people. Since the
earthquake, “But God” Ministries,
under the direction of Stan Buckely,
former pastor of FBC Jackson, MS, has
been building homes for those living in
the “tent cities,” providing medical and
dental care, and establishing churches
to reach people for Christ.
In the last few years, 6 teams from JCBA have participated in this
ministry by assisting with construction projects, children’s
ministry, and pastors’ conferences. Pray that the pastors in Haiti
will be faithful to preach the Gospel and lead their congregations
to be “Salt and Light” In a challenging environment.
Pray for Stan Buckley as he leads the ministry. Also, pray for Tony
and Mickey West, from Brandon, MS, who are the directors of the
Hope Center in Galette Chambon.
Church Focus: Pray for Freedom Christian Fellowship, Fuente
de Vida, FBC Gautier, Graceland, FBC Helena, and Hurley.
Day 4 - Mission Partners in Africa: Please pray for
George and Geraldine Smith, missionaries in Uganda. Originally
from Moss Point, the Smiths have served in Uganda for many
years. A primary focus of their work has been evangelizing tribal
peoples on the Buvuma Islands in Lake Victoria. They have
established a Bible Training Center and elementary schools. They
support pastors who serve in very primitive conditions.
JCBA churches have sent over eight
mission teams to Uganda in the last
several years. Churches have given
generously to assist in the drilling of
wells, purchasing livestock for pastors,
and constructing schools.
August 28 through September 12, some pastors from Jackson
County will be traveling to Uganda to encourage local pastors and
engage in evangelistic activities. Pray for their safety and
effectiveness in communicating the Gospel.
Church Focus: Please pray for these churches: Ingalls Avenue,
Kreole Avenue, Larue, Lemoyne, Lilly Orchard, and Magnolia.
Day 5 - Missions Partners in Central America:
Pray for Pastor Omar Claros who leads the Baptist Mission of El
Salvador in planting churches and Pastor Ricardo Fuentes, who
pastors Fuente da Vida (River of Life), a Hispanic SBC
Congregation in Orange Grove, MS. Originally from El Salvador,
Pastor Fuentes inherited land in his home village. He desired to
donate the land in order for an evangelical church to be
established. Dr. Price of JCBA was
able to connect him with Pastor
Omar Claros who has been planting
churches in the mountainous region
of Morazan for many years.
Churches and individuals from our area gave generously to assist
in completing a beautiful church building. Now, over 50-60
individuals are meeting regularly in the completed sanctuary.
Pray for the new congregation in the village of Fuentes and for
Pastor Romero Claros who is leading his church to build a church
building in the city of Corinto. Pray they will be able to raise funds
in order to complete the building by the end of the year.
Church Focus: Pray for Martin Bluff, McClellan Road,
Midway, FBC Moss Point, FBC Ocean Springs, and Parkway.
Day 6 - Mission Partners in North America:
Toledo: Please pray for the new partnership with Toledo, OH
Church plant, New Heights Fellowship. The church has already
planted three other churches to reach Toledo for Christ. Toledo has
become a focus for Southern Baptists, because Muslims have built
a huge mosque in Toledo, claiming they will overtake the city.
July 24-31, a team from JCBA is planning
a mission trip to Toledo. The goal is for
the JCBA team to bring $3,000 in July to
construct housing for future mission
teams. Pray the goal will be met.
Please pray for Pastor Dan Stevenson and his wife Sheryl as he
pastors New Heights Fellowship in Toledo. Also, pray for Stephen
Long, Director of the Northwest Ohio Baptist Association.
Church Focus: Pray for FBC Pascagoula, Pine Lake,
Providence, Ramsey Hills, Red Creek Union, and Ridglea Heights.
Day 7 - People of Jackson County:
Pray for your
neighbors and the people throughout Jackson County who have not
been born again. Statistics show us that anywhere from 68 to 80%
of the residents of Jackson County are not affiliated with an
evangelical congregation. We know people need a personal
relationship with Christ. Pray that God will use you, your church,
and JCBA to make an impact on Jackson County for Christ.
To continue your prayer focus, please consider going online and
visiting www.pray4everyhome.com. You will be able to input your
address and see the names of all of your neighbors. Then, you can
customize a daily prayer focus to intercede for your neighborhood.
Church Focus: Please pray for these churches: Riverside,
Temple, Unity, Vancleave, Wade, and Woodhaven.
