creating enthusiastic opportunities for each child to meet Jesus and
equipping them to minister for a lifetime
Readiness
Prep-a-ra-tion: n. 1: the action or process of
making something ready for use or of
getting ready for an occasion 2:
READINESS
The Children’s Ministry Events Team is in
the preparation mode- in fact we have been
for several months. The time is fast
approaching when the auditorium will take
on is yearly “make-over” for a few days as
we host another camp for the kids: 2015
Camp Impact ~ Kingdom Contenders.
It is our prayer that the kids will experience
the closeness of God’s Presence which will
stir within them the desire to grow in their
relationship with Jesus. We also love to see
the kids grow in their relationships with
friends throughout our time together!
Camp will be a time to have fun, pursue
God and spend time in His presence.
Camp is also about equipping- preparing
our kids to do what Jesus did! There are
two ways in particular that we would like to
encourage you to walk with your children
during this season of preparation for camp:
1. Evangelism- praying for and inviting
friends to come and experience camp
with your children. There are pencils,
postcards and brochures your children
can use to invite friends from school,
sports teams, neighbors, etc. I
encourage you to be intentional about
praying with your children and helping
them reach out and invite others to
come.
2. Prayer- Prayer prepares our hearts and
the hearts of those around us. Prayer
also changes the spiritual atmosphere
in our region. Over the years we have
had powerful times of prayer with the
children in preparation for camp. This
year there will be early prayer times on
the nights of camp as well as prayer
coverage the weeks leading up to camp.
*Be watching for a prayer calendar for
your children to be praying for their
friends, themselves and other aspects of
camp for the weeks/days leading up to
July 9th.
We can do our part in making things
ready for camp but ultimately it is only
setting the stage for God to show up!
Prayer is a vital part of the “readiness”
process.
Schedule: The format for Camp Impact this
year is as follows: high energy kid’s service
on Thursday evening (7-9) and Friday
evening (7-9). Saturday will be an all day
event (10-3:30): kids’ service, lunch and
activities at the park!
We are excited about our role of “setting the
stage” for God to show up and work in the
lives of these precious young ones. We also
anticipate sowing many seeds of truth into
the hearts and minds of all who are with us
for Camp Impact!
