Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning Services

Engineering and Construction Services firm Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) recently announced its acquisition
of Vermont-based ORW, Landscape Architects & Planners. The ORW team offers expertise consulting
services in the areas of landscape architecture and planning providing sustainable solutions to private
development, transportation and public sector clients.
“The opportunity to both enhance our existing design-related services and bring on a great group of
people was attractive,” said Christer Ericsson, P.E., Vice President and the GPI New England Branch
Manager. “Bob White, Carolyn Radisch and the ORW team provide world-class services and have an
outstanding reputation and excellent relationships throughout New England.”
Founded in 1992, ORW is a landscape architectural, urban planning & design firm with over 23 years of
experience within the State of Vermont. Their professional experience encompasses the full spectrum of
design services including landscape architecture, community planning, urban design, transportation facility
planning and design, public outreach and project visualization. They have grown throughout the years by
providing innovative, sustainable solutions that help developments and communities to promote and enhance
the architectural, historical and cultural character of their surrounding environment.

Carolyn Radisch, AICP
Ms. Radisch is an Urban and
Transportation Planner with national
experience on transportation planning
and urban design projects that have
included commuter and light rail, bus
and ferry transit, pedestrians and
bicycles, transit-oriented developments
and downtown revitalization plans.
Through a career that has spanned
east and west coasts, Carolyn has
been involved in several noteworthy
transportation innovations, including
the replacement of an elevated
freeway structure with a boulevard
in San Francisco; the reintroduction
of cars and an attractive streetscape
at a failed pedestrian mall in Santa
Cruz; the conversion of one-way
streets in Santa Monica to twoway traffic; and station area and
development planning around several
light and commuter rail stations. Her
professional projects have been
undertaken with the objective of
creating attractive public spaces and
facilities that add to the livability
and sustainability of the community
and its transportation system. Her
project experience includes a full
range of urban, suburban and small
town projects, and she has depth
of experience in leading successful
community engagement processes.

Robert White, RLA
Mr. White, is a landscape architect
with over 20 years of experience
working in Vermont and northern
New England on a wide range of
landscape architecture projects for
communities, institutions and private
landowners. Recent projects range
from the design of public space
and streetscape improvements for
Hampton Beach State Park, a $14.5
million renovation of New Hampshire’s
flagship state park, the Champlain
College Perry Hall landscape and
public space improvements at Kim-
ball Union Academy and Cardigan
Mountain School. Bob has a Masters
Degree in Landscape Architecture
from Harvard’s Graduate School
of Design, and is a licensed
Landscape Architect in Vermont,
New Hampshire and Maine.
Ms. Holwerda, is landscape designer
and land planner. Paula has worked
on various projects that expressed
sensitivity to place and community.
She has been involved in all stages
of project design, from schematic
through construction documentation.
Paula’s background in architecture
has provided her with a broad
range of expertise allowing her
to work at many scales to create
special and meaningful sustainable
places. She has a strong interest in
environmentally responsible design.
