HELLO
& WELCOME TO MY DESIGN PORTFOLIO
I am a highly skilled, creative and passionate designer with
experience working on major design projects with some of the
region’s major design and marketing companies.
With excellent organisational and communication skills, I relate
well to people at all levels as well as having the ability to formulate
and lead on projects. Never afraid to get my hands dirty, giving all
tasks 100% and now seeking greater challenges which can further
develop my skills and experience.
Throughout the portfolio you will see a range of skills and techniques
that show my passion, creativity and enthusiasm for all mediums
of design.
Many design applications, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop,
InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver and 123-reg Website Builder were
used in the making of this portfolio to create items ranging from
logos to websites and magazines to posters.
Whether you are looking through my portfolio as a new client,
employer or just want to browse in general sit back and enjoy my

Promotional material from the ‘Thrift Fair’ event during ‘Fashion InDurham’.
The fair was held at the Gala Theatre, Durham. To promote the event different materials such as
wallpaper and fabrics were used to design the Gala Theatre, clouds and sky.

Crafty Nook are a craft business based in Durham.
The client wanted the logo to include a butterfly. Logo variations are at the
bottom right of this page and the final design is at the top right. A double sided
business card was also created.

The textures inside the mannequin were applied to the brochure. The aim was to use as few different
colours as possible.

The brief was to design an award winning logo for the new Consett Academy, County Durham.
My logo is currently being used on all stationery, Academy uniform and prospectus. I worked
with Cleverbox to create the final logo. At the bottom left are different logo ideas and the final
two variations are above.

An advertising hoarding for the Prince Bishops Shopping Centre (Durham) event the ‘Land of Oz’.
The client wanted the hoarding to include known references to the Wizard of Oz film and book, and
include Dorothy’s ruby slippers, a rainbow, the wizards balloon and the yellow brick road.

An advertising hoarding for the ‘Dine InDurham’ promotion placed in Prince Bishops Shopping
Centre, Durham.
A high class design was required for this project. The outline at the top of the logo portrays Durham
Cathedral and the colours were replicated onto the hoarding.

The photograph to the left is a digital screen for La Tasca who are a tapas bar.
The red and yellow areas represent the colours on the Spanish flag and also
includes an illustration of a glass of sangria at the bottom right of the design.
To the right is a poster for the Radisson Blu Hotel. The client wanted the design to
match their stylish but bold logo.

Digital screen and flyer for the Chinese New Year 2014 event, ‘Year of the Horse’.
A horse’s head serves as the number ‘2’ whilst the line below the other three
numbers represents the horse’s body. The yellow stars and the red background
depict the Chinese flag.

The speech bubble on the window sticker is now used on all promotional
material. To keep in line with the previous design the typefaces remained
the same.

To the left is the front of the ‘Professional Services InDurham’ brochure. At the bottom left is a
silhouette of a man in a suit (which is actually from a portrait of myself). Triangles were used
throughout the brochure.
In the middle and to the right are photographs of pages from inside the brochure.

A Microsoft Powerpoint presentation from the Durham City Retail Awards 2013.
The theme of the event was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. A cartoon/illustration style
was required on these designs to match the ‘wackiness’ of the original film and books. The brighter
colours were added so that the slides would stand out in a darker room (as the event was at night).

A selection of logo designs that are currently being used by companies in the United Kingdom.
1. The dragon on the St George’s Day logo at the bottom left represents the cross on the Saint Georges flag.
2. Durham City Retail Awards 2014. The theme was ice and frozen.
3. The blue depicts that the cow is cold on The Hoppings Fun Fair, Newcastle logo.
4. Waugh & Co are an estate agents, based in Newcastle.

This window vinyl design was placed on one of the units at Prince Bishops
Shopping Centre, Durham.
The client wanted a ‘fun’ design that would capture the customers attention as
they were walking past.
