MISSION STATEMENT:
“The permanent quality of this church dedicated to St. Joseph reminds us that
Christ will remain with his People until mortal time ceases. It will be to this
church that parishioners will bring their lives filled with both joy and sorrows
and join them to Christ, who offers the perfect sacrifice to the Father. It will be
from this church that Grace of the Sacrament will radiate for the building-up of
the kingdom and for the sanctification of souls. It will be at this church where
people will find nourishment and strength, communion and peace, unity and
friendship.” John Cardinal O’Connor.

SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY
“The Human Person Becomes a Gift in the Freedom of
Love” Saint John Paul II
Wilder Cortez & Megan Kennedy April 25, 2015
FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT
First Reading: Jeremiah 31:31-34
The Lord comforted his people, who were exiled to Babylon,
by telling them of the new covenant he planned to make
with them. The Lord declared he would write his law upon
their hearts, and that he would forgive their evil and forget
the sins they had committed in the past.
Second Reading: Hebrews 5:7-9
Though God could have heeded his Son’s prayers and
spared him suffering, Jesus accepted his Fathers will.
Through his suffering, he learned obedience and became
the source of eternal salvation for all people.
Gospel: John 12:20-33
Jesus was afraid of the suffering he knew he must face. Yet
he explained just as a grain of wheat must die to be
harvested, he had to face his hour of suffering to glorify his
Father’s name. Jesus explained that once he was lifted from
earth, he could draw all people to himself, lifting them to
eternal life.
Our world today is marked by networking. One knows someone else, a good word is offered, we get a foot in the door,
and success follows. The first step though is ‘who you know.’
Such was the case in the gospel event. Foreigners approached Philip, who turned to Andrew, and the consultation was made. John’s gospel once again refers to ‘His hour’
and Jesus tells us the voice spoke for our benefit.
What does it say? We are not unlike the pagan who approached Philip, but we do know to whom to turn. We have
countless opportunities to see Jesus. We find Him in the Eucharist, inviting us to adoration. We find Him in the sacraments where He reaches out to touch us. We find Him in the
poor, the marginalized, the ‘least of His brothers and sisters.’
‘Sir, I too would like to see Jesus.’

RECONCILIATION NIGHT
Date: Tuesday, March 24, 2015
Time: 7:30pm in the Church
All Parishioners of St. Joseph’s Church must be aware that Confessions will not be heard on Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil) April
4, 2015 at our Parish.
PALM SUNDAY, MARCH 29, 2015
Due to the high volume of parishioners attending Mass on Palm
Sunday please be patient with the duration of each Mass.
Please be courteous as you wait to enter the Church for Mass
and as you exit the Church after Mass. Thank You.
EASTER FLOWERS AND MUSIC
As Easter approaches quickly our thoughts
come to our sanctuary decoration and music
for Easter. I call upon each parishioner to be
extra-generous as you have been in the past to
help with the expenses for both Easter Flowers and extra Musicians for our masses on Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday. Donation for Easter Music can be included in your weekly envelopes
offering. We kindly ask to consider making a generous Easter
gift to your parish. Again thank you for your generosity. Easter
flower envelopes are available in the back of the Church. Donations may be made in memory of a loved one. The
envelopes will be kept in the sanctuary during the
entire Easter Season.
a tocarnos.

A l’Eglise
Cela me fait penser à sainte Thérèse :
l’Eglise.
