President’s Message
Hello Fellow Quilters and
Friends,
Spring has arrived and most
of the snow is gone, but you
never know what Mother Nature has in store for us as
March came in like a
Lamb. Mind you should we
get more snow, it won’t last
long because the sun is getting really warm now.
March was National Quilting
Month. Did you get a lot of
quilting done? How did you
spend March 21st National
Quilting Day? I spent mine at
a quilt retreat with a lot of fun
gals sewing, laughing, sharing and treated to great food.
Our quilt show ‘Stitches in
Our Time’ at the Crossroads
Centre is about a month away
and the quilt show committee
is working hard to get all the
last minute details looked after. I hope everyone who is
submitting quilts has got
them ready. You only have
until the April 2nd meeting to
withdraw your quilt if it can’t
be completed.
Remember the April 2nd
meeting with guest speaker
Susan Bowslaugh is at the
Burlington Seniors’ Centre
doors open at 6:30
p.m. Please bring your own
beverages, treats will be supplied.

Tombola
Dear Guild members!
We need your Tombola items! We are a little behind in quantities, so we really need your help. Thanks to everyone
who has already given one.
What is a Tombola?
A simple Tombola item could be a small wall hanging, a set of placemats, a cover for a pillow, a small landscape, a set of
potholders, a purse or tote bags, book covers or, Ipad covers, and many other small items, too numerous to mention.
How this works!
What will happen at the Quilt Show is that items for the Tombola are numbered and then pinned on the wall. You
purchase tickets , then you select which items you would like to win. You then place your number or numbers in a bag
to match the item you would lie to win, you can select any of the numbers. At the end of the Quilt Show, each numbered Tombola item is drawn. Your number could win that prize!
Thanks you so much for your help.

Are you creative? Only work a few hours a week or are
retired and looking to help with the guild executive?
I have recently become very busy between working full
time and helping family cope with an unexpected illness.
If you are computer savvy enough to use e-mail and
Microsoft Office programs you could be our guild’s next
newsletter editor!
Please contact me if you are interested in volunteering a
few hours a month to the newsletter.
