Hampton Hill School is becoming known for the effective literacy
teaching and the support that our students receive to reach their potential. I have copied part of an email we received last week. This is
testament to the hard work of all of our teachers!
“My grateful thanks for the visit I made to Hampton Hill School last
week while visiting the Wellington region for Accelerated Literacy
Learning. I just wanted to say what a hugely enjoyable and beneficial
visit I had to your school. I was so impressed with the way your
teachers have taken some key elements of Accelerated Literacy
Learning and seen the potential for alignment with your school ways
of working. The evidence you have of school thinking and discussion
(on your whiteboard and walls) is testament to some great leadership in inquiry.”

Our teachers truly live our vision of “Grow People to Thrive” and are
always working towards being the most effective teachers that we
can be.
The teachers had a fantastic learning day on Friday last week. It’s
wonderful to have a full day together to get stuck into some in depth
learning. We spent the day sharing our beliefs & values and how

Hana Conner is in Room 4 and is a very talented writer! She has researched information on owls and has put her learning into her own words. Hana uses humour in
her last sentence to engage her reader “It sounds like it wants more pork for dinner” Wonderful writing!!
We have started a shared fruit bowl for children to help
themselves if they choose. If you would like to donate fruit,
please add it to the bowl in the office area. Thanks!
