Dayton Hamvention® 2015 - Homebrew Radio
Continuing with 2014's “Makers“ theme, we have tried to expand in a similar vein the “Home Brew” aspect of the
hobby. With the upswing of interest in the newer technologies such as: the large Makers Movement seen worldwide,
use of software operated devices designed by the amateur, 3D printing and circuit design, and Mesh Networking of
communications, we are attempting to draw all phases of the Home Brew aspect of today’s hobby together here at
Dayton in 2015. We invite you to look at some of the new technologies that have grown out of the old tried and true
“Home Brew” successes of the past.
Exhibits
Over 500 indoor spaces where exhibitors are displaying
everything a ham could want…and we do mean everything.
We have many new Exhibitors this year. Manufacturers
will unveil their latest equipment at the show and love to
answer all your questions. Come and see the latest and
greatest at the world’s largest amateur radio convention!
Flea Market
Bring your walking shoes. It’s huge with 2,500+ outdoor
spaces! You can find new and used ham gear and nearly
everything electronic under the sun, and then some. You’ll
find this nowhere else but the Dayton Hamvention®!
Prizes
The Dayton Hamvention® presents the biggest and best
array of prizes contributed by exhibitors and
manufacturers. Hourly prize drawings from 11 AM Friday
until 12 noon Sunday. If that’s not enough, then join the
frenzy of the main prizes drawings beginning at 1 PM
Sunday. You don’t want to miss out on this.
Student Tickets
Those age 12 years and under are admitted free without
a ticket if accompanied by a paid ticket holder. All
students age 12 thru high school can get a free ticket at
the Will Call window in Hara Arena. Teachers may order
student tickets by making their request on school letterhead.
Forums
Our five forum rooms are where you can meet and hear
authorities on all facets of amateur radio. They are loaded
for all three days with many favorites as well as new,
exciting, and expanded topics.

License Exams
As always, we will offer free license exams for all license
classes on Friday and Saturday. We have ADA
accessibility for testing. Please go to

Parking Options
Park-n-Ride
We have free parking available at the large Salem Mall
parking lot. A $8 weekend pass for bus service runs from
this lot continuously from 30 minutes before Flea Market
opening until 30 minutes after the day’s closing. Bus
tickets are available under the canopies at the lot or by
mail/Internet for $8.00.
Pay to Park
Privately owned lots adjacent to the Hara Arena are also
available for your convenience.

station is located in the Ballarena near the ARRL area.
