APRIL 2015 AROUND THE Y Hardin Heat Cheer Squads will travel to National Finals in Indianapolis, April 10—12. Goodluck Girls! Summer Job Opening: Be a Y Day Camp Counselor this summer. FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT YOUTH & FAMILY EVENTS Making a strong positive connection with your kids has far reaching benefits. The Y is here to help families to grow strong in spirit, mind and body. Father Daughter Spring Fling—Sat. April 25, 6:30—8:30 PM The Y will be hosting the dance for girls 1st—6th grade, accompanied by their father (or stepfather, grandfather, uncle, or any adult male that they wish to invite). Activities will include dancing, games, refreshments, a photo booth and a Chinese auction. We will be auctioning off Mothers Day Packages. Tickets are $12 for one father & daughter couple, $1 for each additional daughter. They can be purchased at the Hardin County Family YMCA or by contacting: Jennifer Hattery 419-674-1549 or Teresa Styer 419-6746229. The deadline to purchase tickets is April 15th. Silly Saturday—Saturday, April 18, 9AM—12 noon, ages 3-11 April’s theme: Save the Frogs! Deadline to sign up is April 16th. We will learn about the amazing life cycle of the frog and how we can protect frogs. Activities will include frog stories, games, crafts, swimming and live specimens. Each child needs to come dressed in swim clothes under play clothes. Bring towels and undies for after swimming. If they have swim belts please bring them. If they do not have one we can provide one. Please clearly mark all of your child’s belongings. Pickle Ball? What’s That? Picture ping pong on a tennis court. The court is set up every Mon, Wed, Fri morning. We have balls and “paddles” available for those who would like to play! Volleyball? The court is set up on Wed. at 7:30 pm and Fri. at 5:30 pm. This will allow the Y to receive a portion of the purchases you make. CINCINNATI REDS BASEBALL GAME FUNDRAISER—JUNE 7. CINCINNATI REDS vs. SAN DIEGO PADRES -Tickets $20 (reg price $27) –You will have your tickets before June 7th, so you can travel on your own. Or if you would like to you can join the Y caravan. We will start the day at 9 a.m. with prayer and breakfast featuring donuts. The caravan will then leave from HCFY at 9:30 am and arrive in Cincinnati and park at the Downtown Branch of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati sometime after 12 noon. We will have plenty of time to park and walk to the stadium. The game starts at 1:10 pm. Everyone can leave when they want to. FLYER BRIGADE: Does your workplace have a bulletin board for announcing local events? Do you visit a local establishment often that allows for flyers to be posted? Do you visit the Y several times a week? If you would consider hanging flyers for the Y at places you are already going please contact Y marketing administrator, Cheri Newton.
