A guide to Harworth Estates Transforming Regenerating Revitalising www.harworthestates.co.uk Harworth Estates is one of the largest property and regeneration companies across the North of England and the Midlands, owning and managing 27,000 acres across 200 sites and is wholly owned by Harworth Group plc. Our flagship sites, such as Waverley in Rotherham and Logistics North in Bolton, are of national economic significance and are at the forefront of regeneration in the UK. A guide to Harworth Estates The power of regeneration Our mission is simple: we work closely with local communities, public bodies, developers and other professionals to bring life to old brownfield sites and turn derelict land into employment areas, new homes and low carbon energy and environmental projects. We create places where people want to be. The effect of these developments is profound and long term. They support the sustainable growth that is needed to transform local economies, while delivering significant returns to partners and investors. This guide tells you more about who we are, our approach to development and the difference that our developments make in local communities across the UK. A guide to Harworth Estates Our approach Transforming Regenerating Revitalising We are extremely passionate as a company about what we achieve in regenerating the areas and local communities we work in. The basis of our approach is to work with partners on sustainable projects which will strengthen local economies and improve the lives of local people. We involve local people in our schemes so they have a genuine voice, we pick business partners who share our values and we insist our suppliers meet the same high standards we hold ourselves to. Whilst our sites offer real potential to generate new investment and bring about change that will provide significant benefits to local communities, we are aware that the process takes time. We aim to sustainably transform our land holdings to create new environments that improve local areas in the long-term. Our specialism is remediating and restoring brownfield sites. Our technical expertise means that we understand the land that we work with – we recognise the risks involved and can make a realistic assessment of what it could be used for. We also have the in-house capability to project manage our schemes from feasibility/planning all the way through to finalising the construction of new buildings. Our portfolio at a glance We implement innovative residential, mixed use, industrial and low-carbon schemes to support the economic regeneration of the North of England and the Midlands. 32 12 71 40 Portfolio by area Masterplanning and delivering major brownfield schemes We deliver large scale, high quality development on eight consented mixed-use development sites in the North of England and the Midlands, including nationally recognised schemes in Rotherham (Waverley) and Bolton (Logistics North). These schemes are delivering thousands of much-needed new homes and jobs. Bringing engineered and consented land to the market for development We have been able to secure planning consent for over 10,000 homes and 8m sq.ft of employment space over the past seven years. This land is then either directly developed by ourselves or sold as part of an engineered land sale to housebuilders or commercial occupiers. Yorkshire North East North West Midlands A guide to Harworth Estates Building new space for commercial occupiers We have become increasingly involved in building new units on our schemes to suit the commercial property market. In 2014, this included R-evolution at Waverley - the practical completion of three new units for advanced manufacturers that signified the first speculative development in Yorkshire since 2008. Letting industrial space across the UK We actively manage a range of commercial, industrial and office property across six sites in the North of England and the Midlands. Our tenants range from microbusinesses to leading national and international businesses, including Network Rail. DB Schenker and Siniat. Generating low-carbon energy on our land We also manage an extensive portfolio of low carbon energy projects, environmental technologies and mineral operations. Our Joint Ventures with businesses on solar, wind and Coal Mine Methane extraction operations have the potential to power up to 50,000 family homes every year.
