Terms and Conditions Extended warranty options for Ecodan <20 kW units – BSPs and AIs ONLY Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. UK branch (Mitsubishi Electric) offers extended warranty to installers purchasing Ecodan <20kW heat pumps. Extended warranty does not apply to other heat pump system components such as cylinders or interfacing equipment. Extended warranty is available only for these heat pumps as applied in domestic applications or light commercial premises. Extended warranty is available for purchase by any:Mitsubishi Electric Business Solutions Partner (BSP) or Mitsubishi Electric Accredited Installer (AI); and is available only at point of order of the relevant heat pump. Extended warranty purchase requirement must be specified on the face of the order. Any quotation including extended warranty shall be deemed to apply these Terms and Conditions. For any BSP or AI, Mitsubishi Electric’s standard terms and conditions of sale apply generally to the purchase of extended warranty. Extended warranty options/price: Extended warranty options are intended to facilitate the installer obtaining up to seven years’ warranty for an Ecodan <20kW heat pump, inclusive of the original Mitsubishi Electric warranty period relevant to that installer. Option 1: Two years’ extension to the Mitsubishi Electric warranty to installer (suitable for BSPs) Price: £250 ex. VAT Option 2: Note: Four years’ extension to the Mitsubishi Electric warranty to installer (suitable for AIs) Price: £500 ex. VAT Pricing is subject to review by Mitsubishi Electric. Installer is recommended to check current price before placing any order for extended warranty. No discount is available for extended warranty. (“Trade plus” or other standard discount terms do not apply to the pricing). Conditions to extended warranty: . a. Warranty terms as set out in the original installer warranty continue to apply generally. b. This guarantee excludes defects or failures caused by accident, mis-application, mis-use, alteration, neglect, loss of use of the equipment or consequential loss of any nature. Expendable parts, such as fuses, contactors that are regularly replaced due to normal use are excluded from this warranty. Mitsubishi Electric’s obligation excludes any normal wear and tear to the product. c. Extended warranty applies as from the point of expiry of the original installer warranty. Important: Conditions apply to Mitsubishi Electric’s warranty T&Cs which may restrict the period of the Mitsubishi Electric warranty to installer. Therefore, the installer will not gain a full seven years’ warranty if the installer fails to meet those conditions. (Without limitation, Mitsubishi Electric’s obligation under this extended Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. is a Netherlands limited liability company with a registered English branch (number FC019156, BR00339) and trading from Travellers Lane, Hatfield, Herts., AL10 8XB. warranty shall not apply if the heat pump or any part thereof has not been properly maintained throughout the periods of warranty and extended warranty in accordance with Mitsubishi Electric’s Aftercare Standards). No refund of extended warranty purchase is available if this should occur. d. The Ecodan <20kW heat pump must have been commissioned by a suitably qualified or competent installer in accordance with conditions to the relevant Mitsubishi Electric warranty. e. Extended warranty is not available to any Ecodan <20kW heat pump which has been relocated away from the original site. f. The Ecodan <20kW heat pump must have been registered with Mitsubishi Electric using Form EEWRF01. Failure to register within 60days of commissioning will invalidate the extended warranty: no refund of extended warranty purchase is available if this should occur. g. Upon registration of the Ecodan <20kW heat pump for extended warranty using Form EEWRF01, and subject always to receipt of full payment for the extended warranty in cleared funds, Mitsubishi Electric will confirm the extended warranty status directly to the installer in writing. h. In the event the installer fails to make full payment in cleared funds by the due date, Mitsubishi Electric shall be entitled in its discretion to rescind the extended warranty. In such case, Mitsubishi Electric shall be entitled to apply an administration fee not exceeding £125 ex. VAT. i. This extended warranty is non-transferrable to any consumer. j. This Extended warranty does not impact, extend or vary Mitsubishi Electric’s standard guarantee to a homeowner. The installer purchasing an extended warranty undertakes not to promote or market the extended warranty as an offering or commitment by Mitsubishi Electric to a homeowner. Where the installer offers or agrees any chargeable extended warranty for a homeowner, the installer undertakes to apply fair and reasonable terms and shall make clear in plain terms that: (i) the installer is exclusively responsible for that chargeable extended warranty; and (ii) to the extent applicable, the installer’s chargeable extended warranty does not affect a homeowner’s statutory rights. k. At Mitsubishi Electric’s exclusive discretion, Mitsubishi Electric may agree to the transfer of the benefit of extended warranty to a Housing Association, local authority or other landlord, but only where Mitsubishi Electric has previously approved a transfer of the original installer warranty for that project. Any such transfer shall be made in accordance with Mitsubishi Electric’s warranty transfer process as in force from to time. l. Extended warranty is available only for Ecodan <20kW heat pumps delivered and invoiced by Mitsubishi Electric on or after 1 May 2015. Mitsubishi Electric reserves the right to vary or delete its extended warranty offering at any time. Extended warranty terms available from time to time will be accessible on Mitsubishi Electric’s Heating website.
