Many health care organizations are adopting Sustainability Initiatives as a method to enhance their reputation with their patients and employees as well as to distinguish themselves from their competitors. These initiatives also serve to enhance their financial “bottom line.” The EPA’s Clean Power Plan provides an additional reason for health care institutions to consider sustainable energy initiatives. These initiatives include energy efficiency and renewable energy strategies (e.g. solar, wind, biogas, biomass). Significant legal and financial issues arise in the context of such initiatives. This session will provide tools for evaluating the legal and financial cost/ benefit of these initiatives being considered by health care organizations. 3:00 pm – 3:15 pm Break 3:15 pm – 4:45 pm General Session “Essentia Health’s Journey Into Accountable Care” John C.
