The Hilton Head Jazz Clinic is tailored specifically for beginning band students in grades 4-7 who wish to get started with
jazz. The jazz clinic will take place from June 29 - July 2 daily from 1-4pm on the campus of Hilton Head Christian
Academy and will be taught by jazz camp alumni. A finale performance will be presented at 5pm on Thursday, July 2nd.

The Hilton Head Jazz Camp is the Southeast’s premier jazz camp designed for middle and high school students who wish
to perform at a higher level, through an intensive study of jazz with our 14 professional faculty. A pre-screening audition
is required for placement. The camp will take place July 6-11 on the campus of Hilton Head Christian Academy. Tuition
includes all camp classes, t-shirt, lunch, and special events including the Jazz Corner, BBQ, faculty recital and finale
concert. A detailed schedule will be sent in the final registration packet.

Optional Lodging Package (Out-of-town students only for Jazz Camp):
❏ Overnight Lodging at the Bluffton Comfort Suites (2 students / suite, students 14+ only), $300 additional
Please note that seven days and six nights of deluxe lodging is available for out-of-town students ages 14+ at the
Bluffton Comfort Suites who will be supervised 24/7 by well-qualified staff RAs. This price includes all lodging,
transportation, breakfast and lunch in addition to camp activities. Students will need to bring additional spending
money for dinner and optional evening activities. The deadline to reserve lodging is June 15, 2014.

Students may use up to two automatic discounts. Each sibling may receive a $50 discount in registering for jazz camp.

for a merit-based or need-based scholarship must fill out and attach the JJF scholarship form. Full registration
packets with the final tuition balance will be mailed out in May. The full tuition balance will be due by June 15,
2015 with several payment options available. Make all checks payable to the ‘Hilton Head Jazz Camp’.

This camp is open to all aspiring jazz musicians age 11-20 and no audition is required for enrollment. No registration will
be accepted after June 15th. This camp is held at Hilton Head Christian Academy and is proudly sponsored by the

2015 Scholarship Program
The Hilton Head Jazz Camp, founded in 2011, is a summer weeklong day camp taking place this summer
July 6th-11th, immersing students in jazz through large ensembles, combos, improv, master classes,
performances, elective courses, and fun activities, including a private lunch concert / lecture at a real jazz
club, The Jazz Corner. The camp is held at Hilton Head Christian Academy daily from 9am-4pm for all
aspiring jazz students age 14-20. All jazz instrumental students from private, public, or homeschool
programs are eligible to attend the camp.
Our sponsor, the Junior Jazz Foundation is now offering scholarship awards for the Hilton Head Jazz
Camp for students that meet the criteria below. Possible scholarship awards may vary in amount based on
demand, availability and the number of applicants. Both local and out-of-town students may apply for
scholarship awards. Please note that automatic discounts of $50 each are already given to students who have
been accepted into a region or all-state band, have attended the jazz camp before, or are registering with their
sibling. Please indicate whether this scholarship application is need or merit-based. Students must also fill
out an online or paper registration form prior to being considered for a scholarship. Forms and online

Criteria:
- A top-tier music student who plays a jazz instrument in a public, private, or studio music program.
- Must be able to attend the full camp week held at Hilton Head Christian Academy (9am-4pm daily) July
6th-11th, 2015. Out of town student accommodations are available.
- Must have a positive attitude and GPA of at least 3.0
- Must have 3+ years experience on their instrument
- A student that may otherwise not be able to afford the camp, but is well-qualified or highly interested in
attending the Hilton Head Jazz Camp.
