Moshier Community Art Center | Pottery Class Assistant
In this internship role, you will assist the Instructor in a week-long pottery class for children
and help kids with their projects. You’ll also get the chance to teach a short part of a lesson
yourself! This is a great way to develop your leadership and administrative skills and have fun
with your own pottery project.
Responsibilities:
 Be available July 6th-10th from 12:30pm – 4:30pm to assist with the pottery class at
the Moshier Community Art Center in Burien.
 Demonstrate a strong work ethic by dressing appropriately, being on-time, acting
professionally, communicating strongly and carrying out all duties thoroughly.
 Talk with your supervisor about which part of a lesson you could lead. Plan, prepare
and share your lesson with her prior to offering it with the young students.
 Take photos and update Moshier Art Center’s Facebook page and make suggestions for
additional social media outreach.
 Design and conduct an evaluation survey of the class and present results to Supervisor.
Application:
 Submit a letter explaining your interest in this position to Alisa Savage
([email protected]) She can be reached by telephone at 206-242-7752.
 You must be 15 or older and be available July 6th-10th. In the event that there aren’t
enough children registered for this class, Ms. Savage will attempt to place you in
another art camp as an assistant.
 The position is open until filled. Please let your College & Career Specialist in the
Career Center know if you are applying, and if you get the position.
 This will be fun and great learning experience. It will enhance your resume and future
college and job applications. You can use the hours for community service.
 Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch and combine this internship with
others to complete 90 hours of internship experience may be eligible for a $500
stipend, but you must talk this over with your College & Career Specialist.
