gweek: A 1-Day Workshop on Genuine Communication Skills
INTRODUCTION
In our experience, we respond more to skill development interventions when the results are measurable. At gweek,
we’re a little bit different to the average presentation skills training. We can actually measure your communication
skills. That’s objectively, using data science, as opposed to the subjective opinions of any trainer. Your ‘gweek’ i.e.
gweek score is out of 100. The closer to 100 you are, the more attractive you’ll be to listen to gweek evaluations only
take 2 minutes and can be done via personal device at any time of day. Your gweek score tells you how well you
communicate with others, in one number.
We’re also realistic in terms of your communication needs in the real world. You’re not
always looking to be ‘inspirational’ and make ‘great speeches’. Life isn’t like that. Most of
the time you’ll be educating or briefing people, friends and colleagues. Normal stuff. And
yes, some of the time you’ll want to influence others, or even persuade them. Despite
the scenario or context, there is every need to: 1) speak with substance; 2) communicate
with authenticity; and 3) be yourself, consistently.
We believe that if you can achieve the above three criteria, your competitive edge will
shine through.
We’ll teach you the difference between changing your style (which we don’t advise) and tuning your unique
personality to the listener (which we do). Relax. It’s a lot of fun. And it’s realistic.
OBJECTIVES
Whether speaking in your first or second language, gweek will help you:
- understand the building blocks of communication skills
- reach out to different personalities, cultures in a natural, consistent way
- achieve your communication aim, whether at presentation, meeting, pitch, on the phone, or chatting with friends
- grasp the fundamentals to both communication delivery (how you sound and look to others) and structure
(whether the flow of your argument makes sense)
- make longer term material changes, as opposed to temporary
TECHNIQUES
-
go beyond ‘body language’ and appreciate how verbal and non-verbal cues are deeply intertwined
‘pause’ techniques for staying in control and relaxed, whether speaking spontaneously or highly prepared
replace ‘ums’, ‘ers’ and ‘you knows’ and long complex ‘sentences’ with succinct, natural phrases
learn eye movement, not eye contact
let your voice pitch and your hands shift naturally, as opposed to artificial or ‘dramatic’ emphasis
preparation techniques ahead of any event. Go beyond scripts and cue cards
how to read others. Are they actively listening to you or just pretending to?
be yourself, but better
DESIGNED FOR
Anyone who knows they could be a better communicator, and has the desire to improve. But
no matter who you are, or where you happen to be in your career, we’ll help you set realistic
targets and then measure the changes you’ve made.

Steps 1, 2 and 4: How does ‘call gweek’ and gweek scoring work? Get to 97+
There are currently 3 score ‘Si’ levels. The programme will automatically enroll you in Si1, which just analyses and scores
your speech delivery pattern. The highest score achievable is 100. We set 97+ as a benchmark score to aim for. Your
workshop with gweek will explain more about Speech Intelligence Analytics™. Every time you ‘call gweek’, we ask you
to speak for up to 2 minutes on a subject of your choice. You can choose anything to speak about, professional or
social. For instance, it could be 2 minutes on what you plan to do next holiday, or how you intend to live healthily, or
changes you’d like to make at work. How do you ‘call gweek’? Either via gweek speech.com from your desktop/tablet/
smartphone or via our toll-free number. We’ll send you an instruction ahead of your gweek programme!
