Travis grew up
in Windom,
Minnesota, and
learned to love
sports at an
early age.
Travis began his television career in
1998, as an Intern at KELO-TV. In May,
2000, he became the Weekend Sports
Anchor, and five months later was
named Sports Director. He anchored
the 6:00 and 10:00 sportscasts until
2007, winning Associated Press
Sportscast of the Year in 2003, 2005,
and 2006. In 2007, he left broadcasting, only to reappear a year later at
KDOM Radio in Windom, Minnesota.
After more than five years as a salesman and broadcaster, his family decided to make the move back to the Sioux
Falls area, and he was lucky enough to
resume his role as Sports Director at
KELO-TV.
Every day is a new adventure in the
world of sports, and it’s his pleasure
to bring you the stories and highlights.
When he’s not working, Travis enjoys
spending time with his wife and son.
They also enjoy camping, attending
sporting events, and spending time
with their extended family.

Special Feature – 26 Glacier Cruise
Cruise through the calm, protected waters of Prince William Sound aboard Alaska’s
largest, fastest and most luxurious catamaran, the Klondike Express. The 137-foot vessel holds 342 passengers on three decks, two of which are enclosed and heated. Large
picture windows provide incredible viewing experiences regardless of the weather.
Departing from the port of Whittier, we travel over 135 miles, cruising to the face of
Harvard Glacier at the end of College Fjord, and then to Barry Arm and Harriman
Fjord. No other cruise takes passengers so close to these towering masses of ice.
Inching up to within 1,000 feet of the icy giants, we’ll actually
hear the glaciers move while gazing at the glittering blue ice
fields. Home to a large concentration of marine and wildlife,
photo opportunities are endless as playful sea otters flip and
dive while bald eagles soar overhead. Professional narration
is provided by US Forest Service Rangers on every cruise.
