Bob McGuire
Bob’s broadcast career began in 1973
as a camera operator at KTEN- TV in
Ada, Oklahoma. In 1975, Bob broke
into AM radio when he was hired as AM
night-time Rock Jock in Lawton, Oklahoma.
After college Bob went to work at
Canteen Corporation, a vending firm in
Elmhurst, Illinois. He worked there for a
year, but radio was in his blood and he
returned to Lawton, and his first love,
radio.
In 1979, Bob became the weekend
weather reporter at KSWO-TV. In 1984,
KTVQ offers Bob a job as the Montana
Television Network Weatherman. In
1986, Bob says “I do” to his new bride
Lynn Shays.
In 1990, Bob accepts a position at
KOMO-TV in Seattle. After two years in
Seattle, Bob returns to Montana where
he has remained at KTVQ for the past
23 years.

Today we join a naturalist guide for a
thrilling 53-mile journey into the tundra
of Denali National Park. At six million
acres, it is one of the largest unspoiled
regions in the world. Watch for grizzly
bear, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep.
Later, we cross the Alaska Range,
with sweeping vistas of untouched
wilderness. Upon arrival in Fairbanks,
we dine at the famed Alaska Salmon
Bake, a true Alaska experience. B,D
Day 5: Discov er gold in Fa ir ba nks
Today we’re introduced to Fairbanks’
history as we trace its development
from the gold rush to the discovery of
“Black Gold.” Get a glimpse of the famed
Trans-Alaska Pipeline. At Gold Dredge
8, we learn to pan for gold and keep
what we find! Enjoy an all-you-can-eat
authentic Miner’s lunch. We’ll then
board the Riverboat Discovery sternwheeler for a narrated excursion on the
Chena River and go ashore at a recreated Athabascan Indian camp. The

Following a delicious included breakfast,
we depart Fairbanks and relive childhood wonderment during a stop at the
Santa Claus House in North Pole, Alaska.
We’ll travel the Alaska Highway which
was originally used as a military road
during World War II and now links Alaska
to Canada. As we travel, enjoy views of
the Trans-Alaska oil pipeline. Tonight’s
comfortable accommodations are in
Tok. Originating as an Alaska Road
Commission camp in the 1940’s, it is
best known as the “Sled Dog Capital
of Alaska.” B,D

We continue through the scenic
wilderness of the Yukon Territory along
the Alaska Highway. Enjoy postcard
views of Kluane Lake and stop at the
Kluane National Park Visitor Center on
our way to Whitehorse, the capital of
the Yukon Territory. B

This morning we tour the Yukon Beringia
Interpretive Centre and learn about this
area’s significance during the Ice Age.
We stop to view Emerald Lake and the
Carcross Desert before boarding the historic White Pass & Yukon Route Railway.
Follow the route of Klondike gold seekers
with its spectacular views of mountains,
valleys and waterfalls. We arrive at the
Westmark Inn in Skagway, an authentic
1890s Alaska gold rush boomtown. L

This morning we board the ms
Volendam and settle in for a four night
cruise. Later, go ashore and explore
Skagway’s colorful history. All meals are

published tour prices are based on the rates
known at the time of publication and are
expected to be in effect at the time of departure. Once we have received your deposit,
your price is guaranteed, and any subsequent price increase is at our expense.
Reservations Make reservations well in
advance. Space requested by phone will be
held for five business days, pending receipt
of the required deposit by mail, telephone
or in person. Reservations made after the
indicated final payment due date must be
paid in full at the time of reservation.
A Deposit Of $200 Per Person A deposit
must accompany all reservation requests.
Personal check, money order, Discover,
MasterCard or VISA are acceptable forms
of payment. The deposit is fully refundable
prior to the final payment due date.
Hazardous Materials Federal law forbids
the carriage of hazardous materials
aboard aircraft in your luggage or on
your person. A violation can result in
five years imprisonment and penalties
of $250,000 or more (49 U.S.C. 5124).
Hazardous materials include explosives,
compressed gases, flammable liquids
and solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives

You may request a departure from a
city not listed. Holiday’s air department
will determine the feasibility of your
request and advise you of any additional

airport security charges, airline segment fees,
airport passenger facility charges and fuel
surcharges, if applicable. International airfare
also includes applicable airport fees and
taxes assessed by individual countries. Airline

Note: If you are sharing a room and your partner cancels or leaves the tour en route, you will be
responsible for the difference between the double and single accommodations tour price.
Airline Seating Seat assignments are
controlled by the airline. We will no longer
solicit requests and seating cannot be
guaranteed by Holiday Vacations.
Award Miles Please be advised that some
commercial airlines offer reduced award
miles to travelers booked on a group reservation. Holiday Vacations is happy to submit
your frequent flyer number to the airlines,
but makes no guarantee that full mileage
will be awarded.
Persons Needing Special Assistance
The ability to perform assorted levels of
activity while traveling varies between
each individual. Although we welcome
your questions regarding the amount of
activity on any tour, Holiday Vacations is
unable to determine your travel health
and fitness level. Please consult your
doctor with questions when evaluating
your ability to travel.
Holiday Vacations is unable to provide
attendant services. We strongly advise
persons with special needs to travel
with someone who can assist them.
Tour participants requiring special
assistance for other than personal
needs must notify Holiday Vacations
in writing to determine what assistance
can be provided. Children traveling on
tour must be at least eight years old
and accompanied by an adult.
Reservation Changes Requests for
changes in flight schedules, early or
extended hotel stays or for other eligible
components of the tour should be made
prior to the final payment date. A nonrefundable processing fee of $50 per person will apply for any change requested
prior to the final payment date and $100
per person for any change requested
on or after the final payment date. These
fees are in addition to any costs or
penalties from suppliers.
Insurance Holiday Vacations recognizes
the value and importance of travel
insurance for our customers. We offer
an optional Travel Protection Plan, which
includes accident and sickness coverage,
baggage protection, trip interruption
and cancellation insurance. An insurance
brochure will be sent with your tour
invoice deposit receipt or may be
requested in advance. For your
convenience, the insurance premium
is included on your tour invoice.
Processing fees for a voluntary change
in airport departure or for other requested
changes are not covered by this insurance. Insurance must be paid for on
or before your final payment due date.
solo Travelers Holiday Vacations
welcomes solo travelers. We will try to
assist in arranging a roommate for any
person wishing to share accommodations
at the double occupancy tour rate. Should
a shared arrangement not be available,
the single price applies.
Cruise Line Charges Additional fees
applied by the cruise lines are not
included in your tour price. These fees
include but are not limited to: daily
service charge for cabin & wait staff,
specialty restaurant cover charges
and optional shore excursions.
Triple & Quad These accommodations
are usually in rooms with two double
beds. A rollaway bed or cot is subject
to availability on a request basis.
Photography & Video on Tour Holiday
Vacations reserves the right to take photographs and/or videos on any of its tours
and to use such records for promotional
and/or commercial purposes.
Reservation Name/Identification
The requirement to collect your date
of birth, gender and full name as it
appears on the government issued
photo identification you will use on
your tour is federally mandated by the
Transportation Security Administration.

Passport Required It is Holiday
Vacations’ policy that all tours traveling
outside of the United States require
a valid U.S. Passport in the form of a
Passport book. Your Passport must be
valid for 6 months from the end date
of your tour. Passport cards and enhanced
driver’s licenses are NOT acceptable
forms of identification for any Holiday
Vacations tour traveling outside of the
United States.
Tour Documents Tour packets will be
mailed at least ten days before your tour
departure date. This material includes tour
pickup location and time, a tour itinerary,
hotel list and luggage tag.
Gratuities Tips for all the included
features of your tour (baggage handling,
included meals, etc.) will be taken care
of by your Tour Director. Tips for meals
on your own or for other services are
at your discretion. Customary tips for
the Tour Director & Driver are on a
voluntary basis and given individually.
Suggested gratuities will be provided
with your tour documents.
Train Routes & schedules Please note
that train schedules and/or routes are
subject to change by railroad passenger
services. No liability shall be incurred by
Holiday Vacations for subsequent changes
to train schedules and/or routes.
On tour, each person is allowed
one suitcase which will be handled
for you at hotels. In addition, you may
carry a small bag aboard. Carry-on
articles are the responsibility of each
person. Carry-ons that do not fit in the
overhead compartments may be charged
as an additional piece of luggage.
Additional pieces of luggage will be
handled for you at hotels at a cost
of $4 per bag, per day or at the cost
specified for some tours. Though every
effort will be made to safeguard your
baggage, Holiday Vacations accepts
no liability for loss or damage.

Holiday Vacations and their agents act
only as an agent for such other parties,
firms or corporations providing services
herein. No liability shall be incurred by
Holiday Vacations, their agents, presenters or co-sponsors because of injury, loss,
delay or other complication experienced
by tour participants.
Holiday Vacations reserves the right
to correct printing errors, to make any
changes or alterations in the printed
itineraries, dates, routings, hotels or in
included features prior to or during the
tour, necessary for the smooth and
efficient operation of the tour. The hotels
used may change without notice. Holiday
Vacations reserves the right to accept,
decline or retain any person as a
participant of these tours.

European Air Conditioning
Please note that air conditioning is
not a standard feature in European
hotels and restaurants. Those that
offer air conditioning may not produce
the amount of cool air you are
accustomed to at home.

Program Holiday Vacations, as an Active Member of USTOA, is required to post
$1 Million with USTOA to be used to reimburse, in accordance with the terms and
conditions of the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program, the advance
payments of Holiday Vacations customers in the unlikely event of Holiday Vacations
bankruptcy, insolvency or cessation of business. Further, you should understand
that the $1 Million posted by Holiday Vacations may be sufficient to provide only
a partial recovery of the advance payments received by Holiday Vacations. More
