HOLLOWAYS OF LUDLOW RETURN TO CLERKENWELL DESIGN WEEK TO PRESENT NEW AND EXCLUSIVE RANGES OF LIGHTING,
CONTEMPORARY FURNITURE AND A STRIKING BESPOKE KITCHEN DESIGNED IN COLLABORATION WITH ‘CONCRETE LCDA’
Holloways of Ludlow are delighted to return to one of the UK’s leading design events, ‘Clerkenwell Design Week’, between the
19-21st May 2015, to showcase a range of exclusive lighting designs from their own-brand lighting collection, ‘Old School
Electric’, Jielde, David Trubridge and Officine Dasa, in addition to contemporary furniture displays from Meccano Home.
Holloways of Ludlow’s award-winning kitchen design team are also exhibiting for the first time at the show to reveal their
collaborative ‘Concrete kitchen’ design with French design studio ‘Concrete LCDA’, which will also include the UK launch of
their new concrete sculpture collection designed by Concrete LCDA’s Artistic Director, Matali Crasset.

Located in the dedicated lighting section of the show within ‘The Farmiloe Building’, Holloways of Ludlow’s ‘Old School Electric’
lighting collection includes a collection of British ‘Industrial-Chic’ spun-steel pendants, handcrafted blown-glass pendants and
their range of industrial wall spotlights. Also on display at their stand is a selection of iconic lights from Jielde, which comprises of
a collection of cast-metal desk lamps, floor lamps, wall lights and ceiling pendants available in a range of 18 bright colours.
The new range of Cubit ‘up & down’ lighters and spotlights from Italian manufacturer Officine Dasa will also be presented and
are a new brand to join the Holloways of Ludlow portfolio. In contrast, organic bamboo and timber lighting designs from New
Zealand based designer David Trubridge will also be seen.
Holloways of Ludlow will also be showcasing the revolutionary new range
of Meccano Home furniture. Launched in 2014, the Meccano Home
furniture range is easily formed using 21 assembly parts, which are
available in a range of 9 long-lasting paint colours. Each of these
modules allow the user to construct a range of living room furniture that
is entirely adjustable in size, concept and colour as lifestyles and needs
change. Their new range of outdoor furniture will also be seen at the
show.
Holloways of Ludlow’s colloborative kitchen design in partnership with ‘Concrete LCDA’ will also be on display at the show for
the first time in the UK. Designed by Richard McGee, Senior Designer at Holloways of Ludlow, the kitchen includes a striking
over-sized island unit that has been designed using a single piece of authentically raw concrete developed at their workshop.
New sculptural objects from Concrete LCDA’s ‘Multifacet’ collection, which have been designed by their in-house Artistic
Director Matali Crasset, will also be introduced to the UK. This new series of four facetted objects show a superb blend of
polished concrete, bright pewter, warm brushed brass and soft copper interiors that have created a single stem vase, candleholder, display shelf and champagne bucket, which have been further enhanced by French specialist metal smiths, Orfèvrerie
d’Anjou and masters of leather-work, Domeau & Pérès.
Concrete LCDA will also showcase their new, easy to install, Panbeton® ‘Modern’ wall panel designed by Parisian designers,
Ich&Kar who specialise in visual effects. This new ‘Modern’ range of wall panels for Concrete LCDA were inspired by two iconic
styles - the 1930’s and the “optical art” era of the 1960’s. The result is a bold, yet simple, wall panel design that links the past
with contemporary design and forms part of their Panbeton® range of custom-made wall panels that fit into a range of
domestic and commercial design projects.

About The Event: One of the best-loved events in the design industry calendar, Clerkenwell Design Week is a three-day annual festival
gathering Clerkenwell’s long-established design community together. Now in its fifth year, the event has increasingly become a must go-to
showcase for the UK and international design community. In 2014, 32,300 visitors attended the festival; in total 57% of the visitors were architects
and designers, a 10% increase to 2013.
The name Clerkenwell comes from the Clerks’ Well in Farringdon Lane, where London parish clerks performed the famous Medieval Mystery
Plays throughout the Middle Ages. Since the Industrial Revolution, the area has housed craft workshops, printers, clockmakers and jewellers.
