University Dining Student Employee Scholarship University Housing & Dining University Housing & Dining is proud to announce the 10th annual Dining Student Employee Scholarship. This $750 scholarship will be awarded to selected individuals who work anywhere within University Dining and meet the required criteria. Six scholarships will be awarded, and the scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s University account in the fall of 2015. Interested University Dining student employees should complete the applica on, sign, and submit either in person or via Campus or U.S. Mail to Julie Hamel, Burge Market Place, Iowa City, IA 52242‐1214 by Friday, March 27, 2015. Recipients will be selected by April 22, 2015. Criteria Applicant must be a student in good academic standing at The University of Iowa. Applicant must be a student working anywhere within University Dining at the me of applica on and the semes‐ ter the funds are awarded. Applicant must have worked a mini‐ mum of 250 hours since date of em‐ ployment cumula ve at the me of the award. Signature of Applicant Applicants must submit short answers, written responses (50-75 words) to the following questions: What do you feel the role of dining service is on the University of Iowa campus? What makes you stand out from our other student dining service employees? Applicants must also submit an essay response to the question: What three principles have you learned while working in food service that will carry over into your intended career? Please provide specific examples and limit your answer to one page. The answers to the questions and the page-long essay must be typed on 8.5 x 11 paper and print size must be no smaller than a 10 point font. The responses to the short answer questions and the essay must be attached to this cover sheet. Content, spelling, and grammar are all extremely important.
