Bishoftu, -Debre Zeit, 19th March 2015
Dear Sir/ Madam,
We would like to inform and give you a summary about the project of the future Denbi
Maranatha Clinic.
Location
Our soon open organization Denbi Maranatha Clinic will creates lasting sustainable healthcare in
Denbi Kebele rural communities, the bordering Babogaya community and other bordering urban
communities (Bishoftu Town & Dukem Town community).
Current situation
Bishoftu Town Health Office informed us about the current situation. The current available health
institutions in Bishoftu Town cannot serve full all the community due to client/patient load
according to Ethiopian health Policy. The Bishoftu Town Health Office convinced us about the
need of an additional health center at Denbi community and Babogaya community.
The access of health services is difficult in rural Denbi Kebele and other entire rural communities.
The greatest barrier for the community of Denbi Kebele is transport; lack of infrastructure (road),
a lack of money and the distance from a health center located in Bishoftu town.
Project plan
However the starting point will be to establish a primary clinic, once well organized and
availability of financial capacity and fund, the wish is to extend to a health centre. Therefore the
activities and service standards are planned to be executed in the future.
The Denbi Maranatha Clinic will give the service standards according to the Ethiopian Standard
Agency (ESA). Above this we focus on strengthening the management capacity of the health
center to ensure the health delivery of effective, efficient and quality of medical services. Beside
this the health centre will be an example for the surrounding health care institutions and operate
as partners with governmental institutions as well as local Non-Government Organizations
(NGO’s). At last the goal is to implement knowledge and experience from the advanced health
care from western countries.
The care service will be based on Community Based Health Care (CBHC). Therefore the
emphasizing will be on the community and health: partnership, needs of community,
encouraging and strengthening of healthy patterns and awareness.
The health care will moves outwards where people live rather than referral to clinic or hospital.
The service program planned to be done in the future Denbi Maranatha Clinic is as follow:
 Triage Service
 Curative case team
* Emergency and injection
* Outpatient department for Adult Patient (OPD)
* Outpatient department for sick children under five (<5 OPD)
