Bulldog Hill: Both the 10K and Half Marathon courses will still traverse the grueling climb up 28th Street, dubbed ‘Bulldog Hill.’ This year, that stretch of pavement will become a race within itself as event organizers time the fastest runners up the hill. The top male and female runner in each age group to climb 28th street will receive a custom medal in honor of Porterhouse, the late Drake Bulldog mascot. Bulldog Hill will also have Capital Striders pacers in blue shirts to help cheer you on and take your mind off the grueling hill you're conquering. Entertainment and "Cheer Stations" on Bulldog Hill are brought to you by the Isiserettes Drill & Drum Corp and Fleet Feet in Des Moines. We invite spectators and community members to 28th Street to cheer athletes up Bulldog Hill this year! Other Hy-‐Vee Road Races at the Drake Relays Course Perks: Lead Cyclists provided by Ruster Sports and Dimond Bikes: The lead cyclists for each race will be manned by Dimond Bikes. Follow the yellow shirts on the Dimond Bikes made right here in Des Moines, Iowa that will lead you to the finish line! Pacers: The Half Marathon will have pacers provided by the Capital Striders Running Club. These pacers will be wearing bright orange shirts with the "PACER" on the back and holding a sign the finishing time they are pacing. Pacers will be provided for the following Half Marathon finishing times: 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45 and 3:00. Lululemon "Cheer Station" Bulldog Hill is tough but don’t count out the hill on Grand Ave. Lucky for you Lululemon will be at the corner of 17th Street and Grand Ave. and will have a “Cheer Station” with music, trampolines and lots of smiles! Don’t forget to bring your high fives! Course Music: •
