The Bronx Move NY Facts & Benefits

The Bronx Move NY Facts & Benefits
“The Move NY Fair Plan just makes sense! Enough is enough. The plan put
forth is a well thought out transportation policy and it represents an opportunity for discussion and a course of action that will address the city’s
gridlock and the high price of tolls and MTA fares that significantly affect
outer borough residents.” ~ Bronx Councilman James Vacca, District 13
Proposed Transit Investments
New Metro-North Penn
Access line with four new
stations in the East Bronx
Expanded ferry service
Continued expansion of
Harlem/Bronx section of

Proposed Metro-North Penn Access Line
“No one denies Midtown Manhattan is clogged
with cars or that the bridge-tolling system is
dysfunctional. MOVE NY’s plan is bold and
innovative and merits serious consideration.”

What is a Toll Swap?
The Move NY Fair Plan charges more where
there’s more traffic and better transit options, and
lowers tolls on all other MTA bridges. Tolls will be
reduced by up to 48% on all MTA bridges; crossing
into and out of Manhattan’s Central Business
District, whether on a bridge or at 60th Street, will
be tolled at the same rate as the Queens Midtown
Tunnel and the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel.

“Allowing New York City to be the
gridlock capital of America while
its public transit system crumbles is
unconscionable. This is a fair plan that
would ease congestion in and around
the Central Business District, rationalize
the cost of using the region’s bridges,
and upgrade the city’s mass transit
system.”
