Say hello to your neighbors
This time we are glad to introduce Mrs. Lucimare Terada from Brazil.
Q: When did you move to Inuyama and why?
A: I came to Inuyama 14 years ago because of my husband’s job transfer.
Q: Do you have any hobbies?
A: I love listening to various genres of music. For example choral songs like "Heiwa no Kane", Arashi, Taylor
Swift, or classical music. And my other hobby is creating documents for my job. I am very thankful that I
can support foreign children in my job and I enjoy making plans or starting projects to help them get used
to Japanese society. Those children are from Brazil, Indonesia, Peru, Bolivia,Pakistan, China, the
Philippines and other places.
Because I am so blessed by all these children smiling at me adorably, I wish I could help by taking their
cute little hands and supporting them until the point I can let them go into a great future. But I sadly I can
not help all of them, even if I am praying for them from the bottom of my heart.
Q: Do you feel homesick?
A: I miss my parents and siblings in Brazil very much. No words can express how
much I would like to see them. I feel sorry every day to my parents for not being
a good daughter.
Q: Please tell us about your family.
A: We are a family of five: my husband, me, and our three children.
Q: Do you have a message for Inuyama citizens?
A: Although there are not as many foreigners living in Inuyama compared to some other cities, there are
many people who engage in supporting foreign residents. The Inuyama Newsletter is a good example of
this support. And there is the International Sightseeing Center, Freude, where a lot of events and projects
take place to help foreigners integrate into Inuyama society. So, please come and let's have fun together
living in this city.
