ABSTRACT: The main aim of this electronic noticeboard is that we can display the notice in the form of message at the output device LED display. This electronic noticeboard is used in many places like institutes, organization, parks, stations and many public places where everyday writing the notices is very tough and time consuming that’s why this electronic notice board is most important now a days.In this project, the message to be displayed is sending through a SMS.The GSM modem receives this SMS. The commands are serially transferred to the modem through the MAX232 and the GSM modem transmits the stored messages through the COM port. The microcontroller , which is from 8051 family validates this SMS and display the messages in LCD display board. The GSM based notice board contain both hardware and software. In this model LCD display can be used for simulation purpose. INTRODUCTION Electronics Notice board is an enhanced technology used in order to same time and covey message with no delay. It provides a data transfer capability between the GSM modem and the ntice board without the need of wiring on through a radio frequency link. This is a microcontroller based Embedded system which achieves wireless interference between PC and a noticeboard. Here LCD is work as a notice board. The user type and send the message to display on LCD.At the receiver side PIC microcontrollervbased embedded system receives the data through the RF receiver, demodulates it and sends to the display side. II. BLOCK DIAGRAM Figure 1. Block diagram of electronic notice board In this both transmiting and receiving side is present. At first from the transmitter side message is send by mobile phone by user in the form of SMS. This message is receive by the GSM modem and then after microcontroller will valid this message and pass it to display on LCD screen. In the microcontrooler the program is load by PCs[3]. 4 International Journal of Innovative and Emerging Research in Engineering Volume 2, Issue 4, 2015 III. HARDWARE DISCRIPTION 1) GSM modem:It is very compact in size and easy to use as plug in module. The modem is coming with 5TTL interface, which allows you to connect directly to 5V microcontroller. It is suitable for SMS as well as DATA transfer apllicationin m2m interface.Using this modem you can send SMS through simple AT command. Figure 2. GSM modem 2) The microcontroller:It is the heart of this whole system. It is used for interfacing the display, memory and other component with GSM modem. It is compatible with 8051 family set. This microcontroller is contain the program from the kail compiler from PC and work on the command which given to it.[1] 3) Display unit(LCD):One of the most common device attached to an 8051 is an LCD display. This display device outputs the message which is send by transmitter side. This LCD display contain two internal byte wise register. One for command and another one for display.[1] Figure 3. LCD display 4) MAX232 :The MAX 232 is a dual driver that includes a capacitive voltage level from a single 5-V supply. The microcontroller is interfaced with PC via MAX232 level convertor. It is used to convert RS232 voltage to TTL voltage level and vice versa. [1] IV. SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION 1) Embedded C:It is language for programming microcontroller for embedded applications 2) Keil compiler:keil is compiler to compile embedded C programs. The Keil 8051 develpoment tools are designed to solve the complex problem facing embedded software developers. It creates hex file from the compiled C program which can be burned into IC.[1] 5 International Journal of Innovative and Emerging Research in Engineering Volume 2, Issue 4, 2015 V. CIRCUIT DIAGRAM OF TRANSMITTER Figure 4. Circuit diagram of transmitter of electronic notice board At the transmitter circuit, MAX 232 is used to interface PC to PIC MCU. Using RS232 connector cable, data is transferred to the PIC MCU. The PIC MCU does the particular task by giving proper suitable commands. PIC MCU stores the data and also display it on the LCD.Here continuously blinling LCD indicates that the transmitter module is working properly. The stored data is encoded using FM modulation technique and the modulated signal is then transmitted using RF transmitter with the help of suitable antenna.[5] VI. CIRCUIT DIAGRAM OF RECEIVER Figure 5. Circuit diagram of receiver of electronic notice board[5] At the receiver circuit , the RF modulated signal is received. This weak signal is further amplified using opamp and decoded the RF signal using FM demodulation techniques. The decoded data is stored in PIC MCU and display on LCD. VII. ADVANTAGES Time saving: We can deliver the message instantly to any remote destination and as it is displayed in generalthe time is saved. Multiple message and notice board controlled from a single location. It is easy to use. Less complexity due to wireless transmission. 6 International Journal of Innovative and Emerging Research in Engineering Volume 2, Issue 4, 2015 VIII. LIMITATION Limited range of wireless transmission: It shows the garbage values when the distance between transmitter & receiver is out of range. Uses in banks. Uses in education. Uses in information sector. IX. APPLICATION CONCLUSION From this model we can displayed the messages in the form of SMS via mobiles and display the messages on the LED with the help of GSM module and micro controller.
