ILKLEY AND DISTRICT ANGLING ASSOCIATION The Ilkley and District Angling Association is a small club offering trout, grayling and coarse fishing on the River Wharfe and still waters in the Ilkley and Otley area. The club runs regular matches at both their own and other club/day ticket waters. Day (£11) and weekly (£44) tickets are available from the Ilkley Tourist Information Centre (take your EA rod licence with you), next to the public library and opposite the railway station, or from Guiseley Angling Centre. Members Lagoon path car wash Locked Gate Roadside Lagoon The club controls two small stillwaters near Ben Rhydding Access is via a locked gate on the A65 Leeds Road (Coutances Way) close to the carwash. Contact the club bailiff for the lock combination. Members Lagoon: unfortunately this pond has been badly affected by pollution in recent years and is currently not worth fishing. The club is working to remedy this situation. Riverside Lagoon: located in a former quarry this small pond offers good fishing for a variety of coarse fish after preparing suitable swims. Water levels vary according to the height of the adjacent River Wharfe, lagging behind both a rising and falling river. Species available: Roach, carp, tench, perch and pike. Members must be in possession of their membership book when fishing, and must produce it at the request of the Bailiff or any Senior member. Fishing must cease immediately on failure to produce the book. 2. All members must be in possession of a current National Rivers Authority Yorkshire Region Fishing Licence. 3. One rod and line only is allowed to be used. A second rod may be set up. Two rods may be used on the Member's Lagoon only. 4. No fish taken from the Association waters to be sold or bartered. Any person breaking this rule will be barred Sine-Die. 5. No excuse will be accepted if a member is found in possession of undersized fish, and expulsion will be the prerogative of the Committee, without appeal. 6. Senior members have the rights to request inspection of creels or baskets etc., to ensure that the above rule is not violated. 7. It is the duty of the Bailiff, or any member to report any violation of the rules by any member to the Secretary, who will place the matter before the Committee for their observations, their decision being final. GENERAL RULES FOR BOTH LAGOONS 1. Entry by main gate near Cara Cars only. 2. Parking of vehicles on designated areas only. No cars on river bank without special permission. Additional parking in layby near Cara Cars. 3. Deleted 11/2000. 4. No loose dogs. 5. No litter. No excuse will be accepted for this (it is expected that all existing litter, if any, should be cleared before fishing). 6. No spinning of any kind. 7. All fish to be returned to the water on cessation of fishing. 8. No trout to be taken under 30 cm (12 inches) in length. 9. The sale of Day Tickets to be left to the discretion of the Committee. 10. Arranged, publicised angling competitions have pegging priority over individual members' fishing. MEMBERS' LAGOON (OS 183) RULES 1. Ground baiting permitted, 1 kilo per session only. 2. Fishing is permitted all year, including during the coarse fish close season, i.e. 15th March to 15th June inclusive: keep nets may be used all year. . ROADSIDE LAGOON (OS 182) RULES 1. Ground baiting permitted. 2. Season Tickets for this lagoon are available to prospective Senior members on the waiting list (applications to the Secretary). Maximum number 20. 3. Fishing is permitted all year, including during the coarse fish close season, i.e. 15th March to 15th June inclusive: keep nets may be used all year. VISITOR'S DAY TICKETS 1. Four day tickets are available on the Member's Lagoon and Roadside Lagoon Monday to Friday 8 am to 10 pm. One rod per ticket. To be reviewed annually. 2. Club rules apply. 3. Tickets must be produced at the request of the Bailiff or a Senior member. Fishing is to cease immediately on failure to produce a ticket.
