Market Update 27 April 2015 Nepal Earthquake: Crawford ready to help The terrible earthquake in Nepal and India (including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Himanchal Pradesh, Punjab, North India and other cities) has tragically killed thousands of people and devastated the region. Our thoughts are with all those affected. An earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 7.9 Richter scale shook Nepal on Saturday 25 April 2015 near its capital, Kathmandu, flattening sections of the city’s historic centre. People in the capital described scenes of panic and collapsed buildings, and the United States Geological Survey has predicted severe damage. Mobile towers, buildings and industries located in Kathmandu, Nepal and surrounding sections of India are at risk. We have assembled a team of adjusters that will travel to the site as soon as possible and we are starting to receive new assignments from insurers. Chris Panes, CEO Asia, and Ian Baxter, Regional Director, Global Technical Services will also be travelling to the affected region this week.
