Golden Rule Music is a new service
from the folks at Plank Road Publishing
We may be the best known publisher you’ve never heard of.

Peace Day (Sept. 21), but it can be used in any similar
way, as it does not mention this occasion in particular. It
is a very gentle, lovely tune which can be performed as a
round. The lyrics and melody are both simple so that
anyone can learn it and sing along. Consider teaching it to all
of your choirs and even inviting your congregation to join in when it becomes a round
the second time through.

We believe that if you listen to our products, they will speak for themselves,
which is why we make recorded excerpts of them readily available online and on
our free Sampler CDs. But we also thought that it might be nice to take a moment
and tell you a little more about what you will find when a product arrives.
Performance/Accompaniment Recordings - Virtually all of
Plank Road Publishing’s products have recordings that
feature at least two performances of each song. There is a
Full Performance, with children singing the words over the
appropriate accompaniments. Then, there is an
Accompaniment Only recording which features
just the accompaniment tracks and any sound
effects that aren’t meant to be performed by
the children.

real instruments with orchestrations appropriate to the style of the

superb one, recorded in a way that your singers
will enjoy. If you listen to our Sampler CDs,
you will hear big bands, polka bands, folk
groups, Dixieland groups, and full orchestras
as well.
Do we use synthesizers and electronic
keyboards? Certainly. We take a
truckload of them to every recording
session. But we go to these instruments
to find sounds that are unique to them.
We don’t use them instead of strings,
banjos, or saxophones.

Thanksgiving. It has absolutely nothing to do with Pilgrims, turkeys, football, parades, or
the beginning of the Christmas season, just giving thanks. As a nice option, a recorder

with several voices for a really neat effect.
• The Turkey Woogie - Where would we be without turkeys at Thanksgiving time?
Who else would teach us to dance and celebrate?! Kids everywhere have had a ball singing
and moving to this lively song. It’s easy to sing and it comes complete with enjoyable
movement instructions and a sizzling big band accompaniment that makes it very easy for
your young performers to really get into it.
• We Are Thankful - There is no season for gratitude – it’s always important! This tune
is ideal for the celebration of Thanksgiving or any other event that calls for gratitude or
appreciation. Set in a style that’s a cross between folk, gospel, and good ol’ boom-chick,

This piece is full of musical subtleties that will make it a work of
growth for some groups, but it is well worth it. There is one point
where everyone is singing full force until they stop, re-entering with
a subito mezzo piano. It’s the sort of musical moment that can send
chills through your performers when they do it right. These are the
memories that will keep young singers coming back.
While the second part is a bit challenging in places – it is
definitely optional – the piece sounds great even in unison. To add

also pleased to offer secure online ordering capability through our web site 24

CHECKS, PURCHASE ORDERS, and INVOICES
We don’t encourage the use of Purchase Orders because they are expensive and
time-consuming to service. Still, this is often the only way you can use your
budget, so we accept them. Since we believe that you should only pay for what
you order, we include a $2.50 processing charge for all Purchase Orders. Our terms
are “Payment In Full Within 15 Days Of Receipt.” If payment is not
forthcoming, and we must re-invoice, we will add a Service Charge of $5.00 to the
invoice. Credit is expensive as is the labor that it takes to track invoices, and we
feel that it is unfair for us to pass this expense to all customers when only a few of
them require the extra effort. We offer very fair prices and good service. We hope
that you will all help us in this matter. Thanks.

RETURNS
• Please call us for return authorization.
• While we guarantee our products, we do assume that all orders are “firm”
orders as we do not offer items “On Approval.”
• If you must return anything to us, you must do so within 30 days.
• A returned item must be in like-new, resalable condition when we receive it.
You must package it securely, preferably in the original packing.
• For proper credit, please be sure that you correctly identify the order, ideally
with a copy of the packing slip.
• Customers are responsible for return shipping charges, as well as the original
shipping and handling charges.
• It would also be nice to know why you are returning the product. We want
