MONTHLY REPORT
April 2015
CODE ENFORCEMENT
A copy of the monthly report for permit activity is on file in the Town Clerk’s office.
New permit activity has increased with the nice weather. Some large projects are underway, more are
pending final APA approvals to receive their building permit.
Adirondack Park Agency Government days were informative and our town wastewater presentation went
well with some positive feedback from the APA and other town Representatives. Thank you for the
opportunity to attend.
ASSESSOR
The new Assessor’s computer is up and running. Denny Hudson did the setup, and the computer rep from
ORPTS came and loaded the state assessment program.
A few people have called or stopped in to check or discuss the assessment values, but none have made
appointments for Grievance day (May 26) or stated that they would be attending.
The Tentative roll is available in the Assessor’s office and the Town Clerk’s office for viewing.

Inlet Parks Dept. Report for April14th to May 5th 2015 Mitch Lee Parks Dept. Supervisor 1. We have had our Inmates from Mid State Corrections on the Park for the last three weeks and our Park is raked and number one cottage as of this report is almost finished with interior painting of the kitchen, hall, and bedroom. 2. The Arrowhead Restrooms are back on line as well as the water fountain. Cottages will go on line by the 19th of May. 3. Monthly Water Test pick-‐ups at The Inlet Town Hall start on Tuesday the 12th of May. 4. Fern Park has already seen much activity from the New Softball League and we have a sod cutter coming to reshape the base lines. 5. Picnic tables and benches will go out the week of the 18th of May and some will start at Fern Park in readiness for the Black Fly Race. 6. Number three Cottage Kitchen is gutted and a new tank-‐less water heater and wall heat unit and counter tops arrive on the 13th of May. 7. Joe is scheduled to finish his work on Number Three Cottage on the 22nd and then we can have carpet laid and the Kitchen back in for the following Friday the 29th. If we get behind this gives us two weeks lag time. 8. The new Parks Truck should be here by the time of the Board Meeting on the 12th of May. 9. Some work will be put into blowing leaves off the Blackfly course and opening up culverts. 10. Frank Able has been out for illness since April and is expected back to work on Wednesday the 13th.

Information Office Report of the month April 2015 1. The Inlet Lamp Lighter is still on hold for now. 2. Balance in Petty Cash on April 30 was $7.29. 3. From April 1 to April 30 no snowmobile permits were processed. Preseason permits will continue to be avaialbel until November 15, 2015. 4. As of April 30 this office has collected $1,710 for “Arts in the Park” from 21 vendors and $2,100 for Fall Festival from 32 vendors. Applications are available at www.InletArtsinthePark.com and www.InletFallFestival.com. We have reached our 10-‐jeweler quota for “Arts in the Park” and there are only 10 spaces left for this show. There are no more indoor spaces available for Fall Festival. 5. Community Pride Day was a success! Complete report will be attached next month. 6. The annual Great Adirondack Garage Sale takes place Memorial Day weekend. Each town (Old Forge, Inlet, Long Lake & Indian Lake) will put together a map locating all the garage sales they have been made aware of and then share these maps with each other. Starting May 19 you will be able to stop by the Inlet Information Office and pick up a copy of each town’s maps and then it’s “Happy Hunting!” 7. The Hamilton County Memorial Day Parade will take place in Indian Lake this year. Hope to see some of you there! Black Fly Challenge is planning to have a float in this parade that starts at 2:00 on Monday, May 25. If you would like to be a part of this parade, contact Vonnie Liddle 518-‐648-‐
5828 or Ken Cannan 518-‐648-‐5624. 8. The next IABA meeting/social will be on Tuesday, June 2. Join us at 6:00 pm with the “meeting” to begin around 6:30. Location is soon to be determined and will be posted. You do not have to own a business to become a member, and you do not have to be a member to participate. Membership dues are only $50/year. More information can be found at www.groupspaces.com/IABA or by calling my office. Membership Chair is Danicia Nerschook of Sunset Beach Cottages and she will also be happy to help. 9. Black Fly Challenge committee continues to meet regularly and is working on the 20th anniversary of this event, which will take place on June 13th. Plans include a luncheon buffet served by IVES and music by Showtime during the after party at Fern Park. The committee is also working hard on plans for the Mountain Bike Rodeo & Races which will be held the day after, June 14th, at Fern Park. This will be fun for the whole family with a Kids Race, Circuit Race & Hill Climb and Rodeo Events: Barrel Race, Balance Race, Log Pull, Slow Race & Longest Wheelie. www.BlackFlyChallenge.com 10. Before you head over to the BFC Rodeo on June 14th, fuel up at The Ole Barn during the Cousins That Care’s Pancake Breakfast starting at 8am. 11. As part of the Hamilton County Birding Festival, the following events will take place in Inlet: June 12th @ 7am Hike to Ferd’s Bog, June 12th @ 10am Walk the Raquette Lake Rail Bed, June 12th @ 6:30pm Dinner Cruise aboard the WW Durant, June 14th @ 7am Driving Safari through the Moose River Plains. The Inlet Historical Society has some interesting talks planned: June 18 – History of Rocky Point, July 16 – History of Keith’s Diner, August 13 – History of The Woods Inn, September 9 – History of the Gaiety Theater, October 7 – Moss Lake & Longstaff Camps. 13. Theresa Taylor has been working on and put together an Inlet Bass Derby, which is going to take place on Sunday, June 28th from Fifth Lake to Old Forge Pond. This is an amateur-‐only derby with no live bait and the first boat will depart Arrowhead Dock at 6:30am. Details and registration forms can be found in the Inlet Information Office. 14. Adirondack Reader and French Louie ADK Sports have both committed to sponsoring the “Sunsets by the Lake” summer concerts series. Much more funding is needed to ensure all the 5
booked performances will get paid! If you would like to sponsor this series, just let me know. The 2016 performances can be found at www.InletConcertSeries.com 15. www.InletNY.com desperately needs a new look and updating. Most important it needs to be a website that one can look at and easily navigate on a mobile device, which it currently is not. More and more people are using the internet to explore and book their vacations. Our website needs to be improved visually and functionally in order to attract visitors to Inlet. I will continue to work with Ted Christodaro and continue to look into ways and funding to make this happen. 16. On a motion offered by Councilman , seconded by Councilman the following resolution was
ADOPTED by VOTE;
WHEREAS, the Town of Inlet Wastewater Treatment Plant project began construction in 2012 and went online
in 2013 AND
WHEREAS, Lutz’s Building and Mechanical, S.C. Spencer Electric and Hubbard Construction were the three
contractors on this project, AND
WHEREAS, all documentation has been completed and reviewed by the funding agencies,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Inlet, Town Board, hereby accepts this project as completed and
recommends the finalization of final payments to each contractor.

RESOLUTION NO: MODIFIED FINAL BUDGET
On a motion offered by Councilman , seconded by Councilman the following resolution was
ADOPTED by VOTE;
WHEREAS, the expended monies to date for the Wastewater Treatment Plant shows a remaining balance in
several categories and need to be zeroed out and placed into the contingency line AND
WHEREAS, in the Administrative line: Bonding –

Totaling 3,878.18
BE IT RESOLVED, that the new amount in the contingency line for this project is $21,580.80 leaving all balance
remaining as zero.
RESOLUTION NO: INCREASE IN SINGLE AUDIT
On a motion offered by Councilman , seconded by Councilman the following resolution was
ADOPTED by VOTE
WHEREAS, the original single audit line in the Wastewater Treatment Plant budget allowed for $10,000.00 to be
allotted for the end of the project audit, AND
WHEREAS, upon the discovery that the required single audit could not be done for the amount of money
allotted, the Town of Inlet received a quote for the required audit costing $30,000, BE IT
RESOVLED, that the Town of Inlet must increase the line item for “single audits” to $30,000 to cover the cost of
the “single audit” required by the funding agency, USDA AND BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED, that this extra amount will be taken out of the contingency line of the modified budget for this
project.
RESOLUTION NO: REMAINING BALANCES
On a motion offered by Councilman seconded by Councilman the following resolution was
ADOPTED by VOTE
WHEREAS, the remaining unused balance from the budget on the Wastewater Treatment Plant project, after all
expenses were covered and disbursed, leave $21,580.00 AND
WHEREAS, the Town of Inlet paid S.C. Spencer Electric for all the work done on the Odor Abatement Unit they
installed at the plant at the time of service, SO BE IT
RESOLVED, that the remaining unused balance should be returned to the Town of Inlet as they had already paid
S.C. Spencer.

Proposed Changes160-23. Measuring of building setbacks.
A. When establishing measurements to meet the required setbacks set forth in Schedule A of this chapter, measurements shall be taken to the closest protruding part of the use or structure, to include such projecting facilities as porches, carports, and attached garages. Any accessory building physically attached to a principal building, including attachment by means of a breezeway or a roofed passageway with open or attached lattice sides, is deemed to be part of the principal structure in applying regulations. B. Corner lots. For purposes of determining required setbacks from lot lines, corner lots of rectangular shape shall be deemed to have two front yards and two side yards, and no rear yard. C. In addition to the requirements contained in Chapter 77 (New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and State Energy Conservation Construction Code), or any other applicable law, ordinance, or regulation, the location of all planned improvements located within three feet of the minimum setback requirements set forth in Schedule A of this chapter must be staked by a surveyor prior to the start of construction, except as may otherwise be allowed by the CZEO. Foundation surveys may be required for all structures located within three feet of the minimum setback requirement and, if warranted, upon CZEO’s performance of foundation inspection, contractor will be notified in writing that no framing is to commence until a foundation survey has been submitted to and approved by the Codes & Zoning Office. In the event these conditions are ignored, stop-‐work order will be placed on the job, and no aspect of work will be allowed to continue. D. Prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy, an updated survey verifying the setbacks may be required by the CZEO. E. Whenever there are reasonable grounds to believe that any material, construction, equipment or assembly does not conform to the requirements of the applicable building laws, ordinances or regulations, the CZEO may require same to be subjected to tests in order to furnish proof of such compliance.
